Clément Marchal ends ten year run at Sephora and starts a new chapter as Head of AI Solutions at LVMH.

Clément Marchal ends ten year run at Sephora and starts a new chapter as Head of AI Solutions at LVMH. LVMH has appointed Clément Marchal as Head of AI Solutions. He joins from Sephora, part of the LVMH Group, where he served as Data Science & Artificial Intelligence Director. In a LinkedIn post, he said: "After ten wonderful years at Sephora, I'm very happy to share that I have started a new chapter as Head of AI Solutions at the LVMH AI Factory." He added: "This role continues my AI journey within the group, with a clear focus: supporting our Maisons in turning AI opportunities into impactful solutions that drive business value. A sincere thank you to the Sephora teams for ten years of trust, collaboration, and shared achievements. Thank you as well to the LVMH AI Factory team for the warm welcome, and to Gonzague de Pirey (Chief Omnichannel and Data Officer) and Martin Schoeller (Director LVMH AI Factory) for their trust as I begin this new chapter. Looking forward to what we will build together." TikTok Shop Sephora recently announced its debut on TikTok Shop. Piloting in the United States from 19th September, its Drop Shop experience will feature exclusive monthly drops, showcasing curated products from some of Sephora's most popular partner brands. Each featured brand will have a dedicated moment to bring its products to life, tell its story and connect with new audiences. Each drop will include teasers, interactive experiences, and creator led content, encouraging consumers to guess the brand in the spotlight. The experience will culminate in an official TikTok LIVE with a celebrity host, brand founders, and creators to unveil the featured products, answer audience questions, engage with viewers in real-time, and showcase products available for purchase on TikTok Shop during the LIVE. "Beauty discovery has always been core to Sephora's ethos, and the rise of social commerce and digital marketplaces have reinforced the need to evolve how we engage with our beauty lovers. We already have an incredibly active beauty community on TikTok, so we are excited to take the next step and pilot the Sephora Drop Shop on TikTok Shop. This platform gives us a new way to interact with our existing customers, while extending our reach to a highly immersed beauty audience. Importantly, the launch signifies a natural progression in how we continue to lead and innovate in beauty retail," said Artemis Patrick, President and CEO at Sephora North America. Products featured in each monthly drop will launch exclusively through Sephora's TikTok Shop, with select items later rolling out to Sephora.com, in selected Sephora stores or through other retail partners. During the exclusive launch window, customers will still be able to preview the products on the Sephora site ahead of their wider availability. "TikTok Shop is a powerful extension of our global digital strategy and our commitment to meeting clients wherever they discover beauty. By approaching this launch with a test and learn mindset, we are not only scaling our retailtainment model in the US, but also gathering critical insights to inform our digital innovation and future roll-out across our global network," said Anca Marola, Global Chief Digital Officer at Sephora. "We're thrilled to welcome Sephora to TikTok Shop. This launch brings together Sephora's leadership in beauty discovery and curation with TikTok Shop's unique ability to inspire and connect communities through entertainment, creators, culture and commerce. Together, we're creating a new, more engaging journey from discovery to purchase, by reimagining how beauty lovers experience and shop their favourite brands," commented Bianca Sing, Global Head of Strategic Brand Partnerships at TikTok Shop.

LVMH CHRO Maud Alvarez-Pereyre elevates two HR leaders.

LVMH CHRO Maud Alvarez-Pereyre elevates two HR leaders. October 02, 2026 Chief Human Resources Officer Maud Alvarez-Pereyre announces two senior promotions to drive the internal mobility and talent strategies at LVMH The global luxury conglomerate LVMH introduces key leadership changes within its HR department to strengthen its talent development and employee experience initiatives. Maud Alvarez-Pereyre, Chief Human Resources Officer, announces the immediate appointments of two senior executives to critical roles that oversee learning, engagement and employer branding across the entire portfolio of brands. These structural changes underscore the commitment of the business towards nurturing its internal talent pool and building a cohesive corporate culture. Key facts: * LVMH promotes Laura Vandendaele to Senior Vice President, People Experience and Learning, expanding her role to include global learning functions. * The company elevates Pierre-Julien Bousquet to Senior Vice President, People Engagement, to oversee global employer branding and talent attraction. * The HR restructuring supports the ongoing deployment of the corporate People at Heart roadmap. * The Career Compass framework remains a central focus to facilitate skills development and internal mobility across the group. * The leadership changes aim to unify the learning, experience and engagement initiatives to strengthen overall corporate culture. "Over the past two years, the feedback we received has helped us strengthen the employee experience and continue building an environment where people can grow, develop and thrive." Laura Vandendaele, Senior Vice President, People Experience and Learning, LVMH Expanding the learning and experience functions. This promotion expands her previous responsibilities, which focused primarily on the people experience aspect of the HR function. Laura now leads the global learning division for the company, taking charge of comprehensive educational strategies designed to upskill employees. A major component of her new mandate involves the strategic oversight of the LVMH House programmes. The LVMH House serves as the premier executive education and leadership development centre for the group, providing high-level training and networking opportunities for managers and brand leaders. By unifying the learning and experience functions, the company aims to ensure that professional development opportunities seamlessly integrate with the everyday working lives of its staff. This holistic approach helps to cultivate an environment where continuous education becomes a natural element of the employee lifecycle. In July 2026, Laura addressed the foundational principles that guide her approach to talent management and workplace culture. "The first step in walking the talk on proximity and transparency is listening to our people. At LVMH, employee listening is more than a survey. It is an opportunity for our talents to share their perspectives, help us measure our progress and shape the priorities that will guide what comes next," says Laura. She emphasises that gathering employee sentiment must result in meaningful structural enhancements rather than just serving as a data collection exercise. "Listening only matters when it leads to action. Over the past two years, the feedback we received has helped us strengthen the employee experience and continue building an environment where people can grow, develop and thrive," adds Laura. Modernising recruitment and workforce engagement. His promotion places him at the helm of the global employer branding strategy for the group. In this capacity, he leads initiatives designed to attract top-tier talent in an increasingly competitive global recruitment market. Furthermore, he assumes responsibility for overarching employee engagement programmes, ensuring that workers across all brands and regions feel connected to the broader corporate mission. Attracting and retaining talent remains a significant challenge within the luxury sector, where specialised skills and brand affinity are highly valued. Pierre-Julien focuses on communicating the unique value proposition of working for the conglomerate, highlighting the diverse career paths available. His work involves crafting a compelling narrative that resonates with prospective candidates while reinforcing the loyalty and motivation of the current workforce. These senior appointments directly support the ongoing implementation of the People at Heart roadmap, which serves as the guiding HR strategy for the company. This comprehensive roadmap prioritises employee wellbeing, diversity and professional growth. By elevating experienced leaders to oversee these critical areas, the business ensures that its human resources practices evolve in tandem with its commercial ambitions. Driving internal mobility through strategic frameworks. A central pillar of this strategic roadmap is the Career Compass framework. The company designs this framework specifically to facilitate skills development and encourage internal mobility across its extensive network of brands. With dozens of distinct houses operating under the corporate umbrella, the business possesses a unique opportunity to offer employees varied and non-linear career trajectories. A retail manager at a fashion brand, for example, might transition into a merchandising role at a cosmetics house. Maud highlights that this framework represents only one element of a much wider cultural shift. "Our LVMH People at Heart roadmap goes far beyond the Career Compass transformation that we have initiated. This is our group vision for our people, guided by strong principles I cherish, among which proximity and transparency have a fundamental place," says Maud. She notes that these values require practical implementation to drive meaningful impact across the business. "In the second half of 2026, this means advancing pay transparency on a global scale, listening more closely to our talents, making HR resources more accessible and fostering meaningful conversations with our talents on the field," adds Maud. The Career Compass provides employees with the necessary tools, guidance and visibility to navigate these internal transitions. It helps workers identify transferable skills and maps out potential advancement opportunities within the wider group. By actively promoting internal mobility, the company not only retains valuable institutional knowledge but also prevents talent from migrating to competitors. The simultaneous elevation of both learning and engagement functions demonstrates a clear understanding that modern employees demand more than just competitive compensation. They seek meaningful work, clear progression pathways and an employer that invests actively in their personal and professional development. The restructuring of the HR leadership team allows the business to deliver on these expectations more efficiently. To maintain its competitive edge, the business must constantly innovate not only in its product offerings but also in its workplace practices. The global HR team plays a pivotal role in harmonising the distinct cultures of individual brands with the overarching corporate philosophy. This delicate balance ensures that while each house retains its unique identity, all employees benefit from the extensive training platforms and career mobility opportunities provided by the parent organisation. Key business partners: Google Cloud: Thomas Kurian, Chief Executive Officer, leads Google Cloud from its headquarters in Sunnyvale, California. The two organisations work closely together to enhance the digital infrastructure of the luxury conglomerate. They collaborate because the robust cloud solutions enable the parent company to deliver highly personalised client experiences, optimise global supply chains and drive data-driven decision making across its portfolio of prestige brands. Epic Games: Tim Sweeney, Chief Executive Officer, directs Epic Games from its corporate headquarters in Cary, North Carolina. The technology business partners with the luxury group to integrate 3D creation tools and augmented reality into the consumer journey. They work together because this software allows the various fashion and cosmetics houses to create virtual fitting rooms, interactive design experiences and digital twin products that attract modern consumers. Salesforce: Marc Benioff, Chief Executive Officer, manages Salesforce from its corporate headquarters in San Francisco, California. The technology company supplies the luxury group with comprehensive data platforms that track and analyse consumer interactions. They collaborate because this integrated technology architecture helps individual brands maintain cohesive client relationships, ensuring that every customer receives a premium, highly tailored service experience regardless of their physical location. Luxury & Premium Daily Radar - September 23, 2026 | Prada turns the store into a destination, Givenchy strengthens its organisation and Bentley opens its electric era today.

Luxury & Premium Daily Radar - September 23, 2026 | Prada turns the store into a destination, Givenchy strengthens its organisation and Bentley opens its electric era today. Editor at LUXONOMY(TM) Group. Business Development. Press play to listen to this article VOXREAD(TM) by LUXONOMY(TM) Group Luxury enters today with a revealing contradiction: the wider market remains under pressure, yet companies with privileged access to high-net-worth clients continue investing aggressively in exceptional stores, private service, innovation and experience. Reuters reports that middle-class luxury spending is weakening, fewer than half of brands are currently growing and some houses are spending as much as €10 million on a single runway show, while consumers increasingly allocate money to wellness, health, longevity, hospitality and experiences. Corporate moves | Givenchy strengthens marketing, VIP client development and organisation for Sarah Burton's next phase. The LVMH maison has appointed Alistair McCallum Chief Marketing Officer and Nicky Grays HR Director, both joining on September 30 and reporting directly to CEO Amandine Ohayon. McCallum comes from Burberry, following earlier roles at McQueen and Fendi spanning global communications, influence, VIP relations and positioning; Grays joins from LVMH Fashion Group Americas after previous positions at Farfetch, Stadium Goods and Moda Operandi. The appointments follow Marco De Vincenzo's arrival to lead leather goods and precede Givenchy's October 2 show. A luxury-house turnaround is no longer a creative-director exercise alone; product, communication, top clients, talent and commercial execution need to move together. Retail | Prada Galleria opens to the public in Milan today and may be one of the clearest templates for the luxury flagship of the next decade. The project spans eight levels inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, where Prada began in 1913, combining Prada Donna, Prada Uomo, Marchesi 1824, Osservatorio Fondazione Prada, an exclusive private-client salon, a permanent exhibition and an underground passage connecting both boutiques. Andrea Guerra told Reuters that Prada wants to deepen relationships with its highest-spending clients while attracting new shoppers, and expects the complex to generate around €100 million in annual revenue. The store is becoming retail + art + archive + food + hospitality + private clienteling, with Prada planning apartment-style spaces for clients across around 25 major global capitals. Fashion | Milan Fashion Week moves into its first major maison-heavy day after Prada and Vogue World opened the week. Wednesday brings Jil Sander at 10:30am, Fendi at 2pm, Missoni at 4pm, MM6 Maison Margiela at 6pm and Etro at 7pm. Fendi presents Maria Grazia Chiuri's second collection in this new chapter, while Simone Bellotti continues defining his language at Jil Sander. Milan also follows a Vogue World event built around Italian savoir-faire and the relationship between the human hand and artificial intelligence. The question reaches far beyond fashion: as technology makes imagery, concepts and content cheaper to create, time-intensive craft, materials and recognisable authorship may become economically more valuable. Luxury automotive | Today belongs to the Bentley Torcal, the car that must prove electric ultra-luxury can preserve emotion and status. Bentley stages the world reveal of its fourth modern model line in London on September 23, joining Continental GT, Flying Spur and Bentayga. Bentley already describes the Torcal as the most powerful and fastest-accelerating production Bentley in its history, using instant electric torque to reinterpret a traditional brand attribute: immense, effortless performance. Full European range and homologation figures are still pending, so final specifications are best left until today's presentation. The real challenge is commercial rather than technical: Bentley needs wood, wool, metal, sound, tactility, silence and craftsmanship to replace part of the emotional role previously played by the V8 and W12. Watchmaking | H. Moser & Cie. is challenging the boundary between haute horlogerie and digital technology. The new Streamliner Off-Grid is a 42.6mm analogue-digital hybrid combining Moser's Streamliner design language with a screen, GMT, perpetual calendar, split-seconds chronograph, vibrating alarm, moon phase, sunrise/sunset information and Bluetooth connectivity. Two versions are limited to 1,000 pieces each, priced at roughly US$4,900 - dramatically below the usual Moser entry point. It is deliberately not trying to become a fitness wearable or notification device; digital technology is being used for horological functions. The more interesting innovation may be commercial: an independent haute-horlogerie house has created a far more accessible gateway without pretending to be a technology brand. Jewellery | Chicago provides another test today of growing demand for signed jewellery, provenance and difficult-to-replicate pieces. Freeman's holds its September 23 Important Jewelry auction, valued at approximately US$2.7 million, led by a Harry Winston diamond ring, Colombian emeralds, Burmese sapphires and signed works from Buccellati, Bulgari, Cartier, Fabergé and Verdura. The Harry Winston ring carries a US$100,000-US$200,000 estimate. Whatever today's final results, the curation mirrors what is already visible in collectible watches: the secondary market increasingly rewards house name, recognisable design, provenance and scarcity rather than material weight alone. Beauty | Nuxe changes CEO as Unilever Ventures invests in a new frontier: hair longevity. Christine Delfaut-Sara takes over as Nuxe CEO on October 1, after seven years with the company and previous experience at Beiersdorf and Yves Rocher. Her mandate includes international expansion and transformation for a brand available at more than 30,000 points of sale across 60 countries. At the same time, Unilever Ventures has led a Series A round in Arey, focused on proactive hair ageing and greying solutions, funding R&D, clinical studies, hiring, consumer education and retail expansion. Arey has completed a six-month randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study involving 173 participants. A new category is emerging: beauty is moving from disguising ageing towards selling prevention and longevity backed by scientific evidence. Hospitality | Galaxy Macau wants to bring luxury clienteling into the guest's smartphone. The resort launches its new Galaxy Resort App and Galaxy Rewards lifestyle programme today, integrating stays, dining, entertainment and loyalty into a continuing relationship. Large resorts increasingly want to know the guest before check-in, recognise preferences during the stay and maintain engagement after departure. Luxury-hospitality CRM is moving closer to the model used by major maisons: identity, history, preferences and access become strategic assets. Luxury travel | Saint-Barthélemy continues attracting hospitality models built around private villas and concierge service. Bo House, Eterniti's luxury property-management and rental business, launches today in Saint-Barthélemy, its first market outside Europe and its Caribbean debut. Founded in Saint-Tropez, the business already curates more than 350 villas and chalets across Saint-Tropez Bay, Courchevel and Méribel. The expansion reflects a growing UHNW preference for something distinct from the conventional hotel: private residence, hotel-grade service, discretion, concierge and longer stays within professionally managed infrastructure. The LUXONOMY view. September 23, 2026 points to luxury reorganising around three scarce assets: access to the best customers, recognisable cultural intellectual property, and experiences that cannot easily be replicated on a screen. Prada is building eight levels designed to keep its best clients inside its universe for longer; Givenchy is reinforcing marketing, VIP relationships and product; Bentley is translating 107 years of heritage into electricity; Moser is combining technology and collecting without becoming a smartwatch brand; Nuxe and Arey connect beauty to science and longevity; and Galaxy Macau turns the resort into a continuous digital relationship.

L'Oreal steals French stock market crown from LVMH.

L'Oreal steals French stock market crown from LVMH. Published on 09/15/2026 at 11:37 am EDT - Modified on 09/15/2026 at 11:59 am EDT PARIS, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Cosmetics group L'Oreal became France's most valuable listed company on Tuesday, surpassing Louis Vuitton owner LVMH as high-end luxury companies remain under pressure after years of slowing sales and lacklustre earnings. It is the first time since 2017 that a non-luxury company has claimed the top spot on the Paris bourse at the end of a trading day. Berenberg analyst Nick Anderson pointed to the lipstick effect: When the economic mood is bleak, it becomes easier to sell small treats rather than high-end handbags, shoes and dresses. "People simply can't afford to buy these expensive luxury items and instead are indulging in small luxuries like the proverbial lipstick to make themselves feel better." L'Oreal's market capitalisation reached around EUR203 billion ($234 billion) late on Tuesday, according to LSEG data, with LVMH at EUR201 billion. PROLONGED SLUMP Hit by a prolonged economic slump in China and the war in the Middle East, the global luxury industry has been contracting over the last three years. According to consultancy Bain, around 60 million consumers have turned their backs on luxury goods as persistent price hikes have pushed high-end fashion brands out of reach for many buyers. Shares in L'Oreal, which also produces high-end cosmetics for fashion labels like Armani and Yves Saint Laurent, are up 5% this year, compared with a year-to-date loss of 35% for LVMH. LVMH, controlled by the family of CEO Bernard Arnault, became Europe's most valuable company amid a pandemic-era spending boom in 2021, but today is dwarfed by chipmaker ASML - now worth three times as much - and Swiss pharmaceutical giants Roche and Novartis. Its shares were down 2.3% on Tuesday. Based on current stock market data, LVMH on Tuesday also lost its place among Europe's 10 largest companies by market capitalisation. Arnault, meanwhile, has lost his title as Europe's wealthiest person to Zara founder Amancio Ortega, according to Forbes' real-time billionaire ranking. Apart from a resilient but small group of ultra-rich shoppers, LVMH is suffering from a structural lack of demand, Anderson said, pointing to the economic downturn in China, once the industry's growth engine, and other factors. "We're scared about tax rises everywhere across Europe. You've got inflation worries, you've got AI job worries. There's just something everywhere," Anderson said. "I don't see luxury trends significantly improving," DWS equity portfolio manager Stefan Bauknecht said, adding that L'Oreal's new lead could well be here to stay. LVMH and L'Oreal have been approached for comment. ($1 = 0.8663 euros) (reporting by Piotr Lipinski. Nigerian-American Fashion creator and model Wisdom Kaye received one of the night's highest honors at the 19th Annual Harlem's Fashion Row Style Awards, taking home the Virgil Abloh Award sponsored by LVMH. The ceremony took place at The Glasshouse in New York City, serving as a prominent kickoff to New York Fashion Week. The award celebrates Kaye's rapid ascent from filming fashion clips on a phone in his room to earning recognition from top global fashion leaders. Dressed in a navy double-breasted pinstripe suit paired with dark oversized glasses, Kaye stood at the podium with the silver trophy and delivered a candid reflection on his journey. He described the surreal nature of seeing his personal passion evolve into a global movement. "I never thought that with an iPhone and a corner of my room that I'd inspire people all over the world," Kaye said. "I never thought that my ideas were really that great. I never thought that my setup, that I kept shifting from house to house, would be enough to pioneer a new wave of video." Beyond personal achievement, Kaye highlighted the unique position he occupies at the intersection of digital media and high fashion. "And I'm incredibly fortunate. I'm immensely fortunate to be able to traverse both the digital and physical side of our industry, with the amount of corporeal autonomy that I have as well," he remarked. He added a note of awareness regarding industry access: "And I also recognise that not everybody has the same privilege..." The evening, organized under the theme "Peace by Piece," also recognized music legend Erykah Badu with the Fashion Icon Award and awarded Brandon Blackwood the Designer of the Year title. For Kaye, accepting an award bearing the name of the late Virgil Abloh represents a significant milestone for digital creators worldwide. It reinforces how online innovation continues to carve new paths within the global fashion ecosystem, bridging the gap between social media ingenuity and institutional acclaim.
