Requirements
  • Experience or capability in construction field operations spanning foundation, structure, facade, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, interior rough, and finish scopes.
  • Ability to understand and implement field standard operating procedure guidelines and programs.
  • Ability to work with project superintendents on materials, sequencing, scheduling, personnel, and construction issues.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety compliance and project-specific safety plans.
  • Ability to manage subcontractor performance according to quality and ethical standards.
  • Ability to maintain project documentation, logs, shop drawings, drawing revisions, and as-built working drawings.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, ambiguity, tight oversight, and complex construction issues.
  • Ability to develop business judgment balancing budget and construction processes.
  • Ability to escalate issues appropriately and resolve conflicts firmly and fairly.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, customer-relations, and multitasking skills.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing and documenting day-to-day job site activities, including OSHA safety compliance.
  • Direct field personnel according to the project plan or Superintendent direction, and communicate issues, events, performance, and job progress daily.
  • Report problems promptly to the Superintendent and request advice on materials, sequencing, scheduling, and personnel matters.
  • Identify pre-mobilization activities and review the start-up schedule with the Superintendent.
  • Update the project schedule monthly with the Superintendent and provide input to three-week look-ahead updates.
  • Track subcontractor participation in safety pre-construction meetings, material safety data sheet coverage, site-specific safety plans, and current insurance certificates.
  • Review daily site activities for compliance with OSHA regulations and the project-specific safety plan.
  • Become familiar with the Quality Management Project and assist the team with implementation.
  • Help mobilize the field office and maintain the job site to company standards.
  • Organize project documentation at the job site for accessibility and review.
  • Work with the Superintendent to identify and resolve manpower issues and construction changes.
  • Attend project turnover, mobilization, coordination, safety pre-construction, foreman, safety, and monthly schedule review meetings.
  • Complete daily reports and maintain logs of key activities, files, and shop drawings; send them to the Project Administrator weekly.
  • Take job photos to document project progress and send them to the Project Administrator weekly.
  • Inventory the quality and condition of material deliveries.
  • Maintain required safety reports and other required files according to company standards.
  • Maintain as-built working drawings, current drawing logs, and revision logs, and communicate updates to subcontractors.
