Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, engineering, or another related business or quantitative discipline is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data analytics or a related field.
  • Experience with SQL is required.
  • Experience developing dashboards using Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, RShiny, Plotly, and D3.js.
  • Ability to work on the client site in Reston, Virginia or Washington, D.C.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required, and a CI polygraph is required; candidates without a current polygraph will be sponsored for an upgrade.
  • Applicants must be eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance; only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Ability to work effectively with business customers and technical teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement through data analytics independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Ability to maintain effective customer relationships.
Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced data analytics and strategic workforce planning through on-demand web-based capabilities and reporting.
  • Maintain key datasets in a SQL Server database, provide ad hoc reporting, and develop interactive data visualizations.
  • Engage technical and functional program subject-matter experts and key data stakeholders to understand business processes, develop analytical requirements, identify key data elements, adhere to data protection guidelines, and interpret and communicate analytic results.
  • Understand and analyze complex and organization-specific datasets.
  • Define and develop techniques to integrate, consolidate, and structure data for analytical use.
  • Support the maturation of data quality.
  • Support business process transformation through automation.
  • Transform data and analysis into informative visualizations and interactive dashboards using open-source and commercially available visualization and dashboard tools.
  • Collaborate proactively and in a timely manner with internal and external team members.
  • Provide regular detailed reporting to management and customers.
  • Develop briefing packages to communicate complex ideas to non-technical customers.
  • Advise non-technical customers on the interpretation and use of data analysis products, dashboards, and reports.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with data science methods related to data architecture, data munging, data and feature engineering, and predictive analytics.
  • Python experience is preferred, including advanced knowledge of Python.
  • Experience using Python libraries to build regression models and decision trees.
  • Experience with version control software such as Git.
  • Management consulting experience.
  • Experience working with unstructured text and natural language processing.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining models in production.
  • Previous experience with people analytics.
  • A master's degree or higher.
