Requirements
  • You must be a college junior, senior or graduate student enrolled in a degree program by the application deadline.
  • Clear, concise, energetic writing.
  • Demonstrated conventional coverage of news events.
  • Enterprise reporting that demonstrates creative, inventive or investigative skills.
  • A commitment to accuracy, clarity and journalistic rigor.
  • A résumé, autobiographical essay of no more than 500 words, and no more than three clips with an explanation of your role for each story.
Responsibilities
  • Report and write quickly when news breaks while pursuing longer-term enterprise work.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the newsroom to produce impactful, multi-format storytelling.
  • Report and write articles, edit copy, take photographs, shoot and edit video, create graphics, produce audio, design on multiple platforms, develop audience strategy, and perform data analyses.
  • Indicate a reporting assignment preference in the questionnaire.
