Requirements
  • A strong proven track record in sales within the pharmaceutical and/or medical-device sector in the fertility or gynaecology market, or a strong track record working within the fertility market with an affinity for sales.
  • The ability to build and develop relationships with stakeholders and collaborate across teams to achieve sales results.
  • The ability to analyse complex issues and work effectively with different stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI, and customer relationship management systems.
  • Extensive and current knowledge of the CooperSurgical portfolio and competitive environment.
  • Current knowledge of local compliance legislation governing interactions with healthcare professionals.
  • Awareness of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize an independent workload with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • A business school degree or dual business/science curriculum at the Bachelor's or Master's level, together with more than four years of medical-device sales experience.
  • Candidates with a purely technical or scientific background in in-vitro fertilization may also be considered if they demonstrate strong sales aptitude.
Responsibilities
  • Own field sales of the CooperSurgical Fertility portfolio for customers within the assigned territory in Italy.
  • Drive sales above market pace and ensure quarterly sales targets are met.
  • Grow sales of consumables, genomics, equipment, and technical services through product knowledge, local infertility-market understanding, and proactive professional sales skills.
  • Arrange sales and local marketing activities in alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Ensure legal compliance and accurate, timely reporting.
  • Provide local market data to corporate stakeholders and conduct regular sales analysis and planning using customer relationship management systems and Power BI.
  • Visit customers approximately 80% of the time and plan sales visits around major opportunities, focusing on closing deals.
  • Develop strong customer relationships and meet revenue targets for assigned customer accounts.
  • Generate leads for consumables, equipment, technical services, and genomics, then execute them in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop commercial proposals for annual contracts and continuous re-buy standing orders.
  • Monitor and participate in relevant public tenders and coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure CooperSurgical products are included in tender specifications.
  • Maintain overall account ownership and improve coordination and effective selling of the full CooperSurgical Fertility portfolio.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs to improve the CooperSurgical value proposition and create strong partnerships.
  • Manage sales proactively using market insight and analytical tools, and provide reports requested by the direct manager.
  • Engage Equipment, Customer Service, Genetics, Marketing, Regulatory, and Finance functions as needed to provide superior account service.
  • Suggest and execute relevant marketing campaigns to grow the assigned market.
  • Arrange local promotional and training activities focused on return on investment with the Clinical Application Scientist and regional sales team.
  • Recommend and implement processes that optimize time management and business continuity.
  • Analyse sales trends and market metrics with the direct manager and regional colleagues to develop sales tactics and ensure sales growth.
  • Prepare customer visits using Power BI, customer relationship management systems, and other tools, and complete customer relationship management reporting promptly.
  • Meet financial-reporting deadlines and customer-response times, and proactively delegate tasks during vacation absences to maintain business continuity.
  • Adhere to company values and support the company's Inclusion and Diversity and Employee Engagement commitments.
