Responsibilities
  • Assist the head trainer in all areas of sports medicine, including team coverage during practice sessions, home and away competitions, pre-game and post-game treatments, and other assigned duties.
  • Deliver athletic training services to varsity student-athletes under the direction of the head athletic trainer and team physician, including prevention, recognition, evaluation, and treatment of athletic injuries; acute care and emergency response; rehabilitation and reconditioning; and health care administration.
  • Assist with maintaining comprehensive medical records for individual student-athletes, daily injury reports for all athletes, and annual injury reports summarizing injuries, treatments, and follow-up care.
  • Supervise the clinical experiences of athletic training students and assist the athletic training program director with duties related to the athletic training program.
  • Organize and coordinate the inventory of athletic training equipment and supplies.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate graduate assistant athletic trainers.
  • Provide coverage of all assigned home and away events.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the head athletic trainer.
