Requirements
  • Experience implementing Special Access Program and Sensitive Compartmented Information security compliance.
  • A university degree or equivalent experience with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft products.
Responsibilities
  • Drive special programs security compliance throughout the Marlborough campus as the Contractor Special Security Officer.
  • Implement national security directives, including the Department of Defense 5205.07 Special Access Program Security Manual and Intelligence Community Directive 705.
  • Process Program Access Requests, control documents and media, manage data transfers and visitors, maintain security files, and handle classified documents.
  • Prepare and conduct program security awareness briefings and develop security plans, goals, and objectives.
  • Interface with program managers and government officials to obtain rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations or waivers for regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with the Department of Defense Manual 5205.07, 32 CFR Part 117, Intelligence Community Directives, Industrial Security Guidance Manuals, and Special Program Security directives.
  • Review contractual, internal, and external customer directives for security applicability and impact, and make recommendations to Program Management.
  • Perform duties as the Special Access Program Accountability Officer.
  • Provide oversight of security-related Standard Operating Procedures, Operations Security Plans, Program Protection Plans, and Program Protection Implementation Plans.
  • Participate in proposal activities and serve as the area Special Programs subject matter expert.
  • Partner with cross-functional organizations to support business objectives.
  • Implement a self-inspection program, evaluate findings, and direct corrective-action implementation and reevaluation.
  • Prepare, submit, and receive area and facility accreditation approvals.
  • Lead the team during government security compliance inspections.
  • Investigate security infractions and violations, prepare reports regarding potential loss or compromise, and provide corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Information Systems Security Officer and Information Systems Security Manager on Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide requirements and approved sanitization procedures.
  • Participate in facility construction meetings, build-out activities, and related documentation when applicable.
  • Work extended hours and weekends when required, and travel locally throughout New England or on a limited basis elsewhere.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, computer, and writing skills, with the ability to perform in a unique multi-program environment.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through when completing tasks.
  • Understanding of customer Special Access Program security and acquisition structures.
  • User experience with Defense Information System for Security, Joint Access Database Environment, and Scattered Castles.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and arrange activities to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to develop and implement solutions to complex problems.
  • Membership in professional organizations such as CSSWG or ASIS, and professional certifications.
  • Experience with Basis of Estimates for existing work and contract bids.
  • Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance.
  • Recent counterintelligence polygraph.

RTX's Raytheon secures $24.4B contract for SM-6 interceptors

Raytheon, an RTX business, has secured a five-year contract worth up to $24.4 billion for Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) interceptors. The contract includes two additional option years. The agreement ensures a consistent supply of SM-6s for the US Navy. The missile can conduct offensive strikes and missile defense missions. Raytheon President Phil Jasper said the company is focused on meeting demand through operational investments and facility improvements. The firm has expanded its workforce, strengthened partnerships across the defence industrial base, and automated production to boost output. SM-6 is the only combat-proven weapon capable of performing anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, and ballistic missile defence. It can be fired from various Navy ship-based platforms and land-based launchers.

United Airlines receives first GTF Advantage-powered A321XLR from RTX's Pratt & Whitney

United Airlines has received its first Airbus A321XLR aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney's GTF Advantage engines, marking the inaugural delivery of this enhanced engine variant. The GTF Advantage offers up to twice the operational lifespan of current GTF engines and provides 4-8% more takeoff thrust, enabling extended range capabilities. The engine features an advanced hot section design and remains fully compatible with existing GTF models, simplifying fleet operations. Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, plans to transition its entire PW1100G-JM production line to the Advantage specification by 2028. Current GTF operators will be able to access 90-95% of the Advantage's durability improvements through a Hot Section Plus upgrade option, available from early next year during scheduled maintenance visits.

Pratt & Whitney invests $25M to expand Poland manufacturing, adding 120 jobs

RTX's Pratt & Whitney is investing $25 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Niepołomice, Poland. The site produces complex tubular assemblies for commercial and military engines. The expansion, supported by the Polish government through the Polish Investment Zone Programme, will add more than 120 jobs when it becomes operational in 2028. The facility currently manufactures precision components for multiple engine types, including the GTF engine for commercial aircraft and the F135 for F-35 fighter aircraft. This investment is part of Pratt & Whitney's $125 million commitment to Polish facilities this year, including a $100 million investment in Rzeszow. Poland represents RTX's largest investment base outside the United States, with more than 9,500 employees across its businesses in-country.

RTX's $289 billion backlog splits 60% commercial aerospace and 40% defence, a combination that benefits both divisions. The commercial segment's strong profitability allows the defence business to avoid risky fixed-price development contracts that have troubled competitors like Boeing and Lockheed Martin. This flexibility enabled RTX to terminate an unfavourable classified programme in 2024, taking a $575 million charge rather than pursuing losses. CEO Chris Calio said the contract fell outside the company's core competencies and predated RTX's formation. The arrangement works both ways. Defence earnings supported RTX through a costly powder metal coating issue affecting its geared turbofan engine. The structure allows RTX to focus on established defence solutions like Patriot missiles whilst maintaining investment in commercial aerospace during downturns.

RTX's Raytheon wins $22.9B contract to accelerate Tomahawk missile production

Raytheon, an RTX business, has secured a seven-year, $22.9 billion contract from the US Navy to accelerate production of Tomahawk cruise missiles. The agreement, part of the Department of War's Arsenal of Freedom initiative, will support ramping annual production to over 1,000 missiles. RTX has already tripled Tomahawk deliveries in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. The contract will enable the company to expand capacity and work with hundreds of suppliers nationwide to scale output. Tomahawk cruise missiles provide long-range strike capabilities, allowing the Navy to target hostile forces from hundreds of miles away across multiple launch platforms.
