- Relevant experience in a high-quality, high-volume operation.
- Ability to tolerate varying outdoor work conditions involving noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
- Mobility, prolonged walking, sitting, and standing, eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to distinguish letters, symbols, and colors.
- Ability to push or pull a file cabinet weighing up to twenty-five pounds.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests with eye contact, a smile, correct posture, clear and complete verbiage, proper grammar, appropriate speech rate and volume, and an upbeat tone.
- Inform guests about daily specials and menu changes.
- Suggest food and beverages and attempt to upsell.
- Accurately take food and drink orders.
- Enter orders and guest special requirements into the point-of-sale machine.
- Maintain tables and coordinate service with support staff and other servers.
- Replenish utensils, refill beverages, and work with food runners to deliver food as needed.
- Respond promptly to additional guest requests.
- Adhere consistently to hotel grooming, appearance, pool, and service standards.
- Understand and communicate resort products and services.
- Print closing reports and deliver cash, room charges, and credit-card receipts to the cashier's room department when needed.
- Support colleagues and perform other pool duties as requested by management.
- Stock side stations with glassware, share plates, marking trays, condiments, sugar, coffee, tea, and other mise en place.
- Maintain accurate guest checks, ensure all items are charged, provide complete checks, and secure payment.
- Perform assigned side work before, during, and after each shift.
- Communicate guest needs and feedback to the kitchen and management and assist management as needed to ensure smooth operations and quality service.
- Serve alcohol responsibly and only to guests over 21; check identification for guests who appear under 30.
- Help promote a safe and clean environment for coworkers and guests.
- Prepare station and work areas for service and the next meal period or day.
- Provide food and beverage service to pool guests.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous serving experience is preferred.
- Hospitality or resort experience is a plus.
