- Basic dysrhythmia, intravenous insertion and care, wound care, peripherally inserted central catheter lines, and Foley catheter care may be required in an inpatient behavioral unit.
- A current Maine registered nurse license is required.
- Basic Life Support certification is required.
- Graduation from an approved nursing program is required.
- Deliver direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all areas of the unit.
- Delegate interventions that can be performed by others and supervise as appropriate.
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment for the delivery of effective nursing care.
- Provide education to patients and families.
- Collaborate with other health professionals in the planning and management of health care.
- Crisis Prevention Institute training is preferred or must be obtained before completion of orientation.
