Requirements
- Basic understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and components.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning issues under supervision.
- Ability to work as part of a team and assist experienced technicians.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, on rooftops, and in elevated areas.
- Ability to perform physical activities including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and climbing.
- Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed.
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and noise.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential card if required by the site.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to industrial safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including air conditioning units, heating systems, and ventilation systems; tasks may include assembling and connecting ductwork, piping, and electrical components under supervision.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting systems for proper operation.
- Assist in diagnosing and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system malfunctions, including refrigerant leaks, airflow issues, and electrical problems.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and maintenance logs, to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration, National Fire Protection Association, and site-specific safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Support experienced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technicians and collaborate with the maintenance team to complete tasks efficiently.
