Requirements
  • Must be willing to participate in the company’s background check process if extended an offer.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have reliable transportation and, in some cases, proof of a driver’s license and valid car insurance.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and complete a TB test if one has not been completed in the past year.
  • Must be physically able to get down on the floor and stand up repeatedly, lift up to 50 pounds, and move quickly when required for interaction with and safety of children.
  • Must be reliable and able to attend each scheduled therapy appointment.
  • Must maintain professional presentation and conduct.
  • Must be patient and able to keep clients on task.
  • Must maintain emotional control when a client acts out physically or verbally.
  • Must have a positive attitude and drive to help a child acquire new skills.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and be able to perform repetitive tasks precisely.
  • Must be able to follow and carry out detailed instructions.
  • Must understand technology well enough to record data on a mobile device and navigate digital applications.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate cultural competency and remain flexible and open-minded.
  • Must hold and maintain current Registered Behavior Technician certification or be willing to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for the Registered Behavior Technician competency exam within 45 days of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client care in one-to-one and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
  • Follow the behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols in each client’s individualized treatment plan, as developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in accordance with each client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Complete documentation on time and according to established procedures.
  • Communicate client progress to parents and caregivers as instructed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.
  • Use safe and appropriate procedures when working with clients and report critical incidents and safety concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Assist the Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst in preparing client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skill acquisition activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience as a behavioral technician or experience working with children with autism or other learning disabilities, including as a teacher’s aide, tutor, certified nursing assistant, caregiver, or home health aide.
