Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Three to five years of progressive experience in a related field is required.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required; Excel proficiency is essential.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks and work with deadlines is required.
  • Effective analytical, written, oral communication, and negotiating skills are required.
  • Some domestic and international travel is required.
Responsibilities
  • Procure mass-production raw material for the wire harness business while balancing physical inventory and preventing line shutdowns.
  • Review the entire material pipeline, including purchase-order cancellations, purchase-order push-outs, urgent orders, and normal orders, to maintain steady supply within Material Controls inventory goals.
  • Communicate with assigned vendors and review purchase orders, backorders, forecasts, expedite requests, and delivery issues.
  • Review, release, and interpret weekly forecasts and backorder reports for the assigned vendor base.
  • Review backorders and issue Supplier Delivery Non-Conformance and Payment Deduction Notices to vendors.
  • Provide plants and warehouses with part-number information, including estimated times of arrival and plant days of inventory on hand based on shipping history.
  • Support Material Control and other departments with pending supplier invoice payments related to late or missing deliveries, warehouse receiving, and supplier discrepancies.
  • Inform production plants about material arrivals and potential production problems.
  • Generate forecast, inventory, obsolescence-control, and downtime reports as needed.
  • Coordinate supplier meetings, follow up on discrepancy and invoice issues, and request effective countermeasures for recurring supplier problems.
  • Assign FedEx, UPS, or DHL carriers for expedited shipments and track shipments to prevent plant downtime.
  • Work a flexible schedule as needed to accommodate supplier internal and external operating hours.
  • Travel to manufacturing sites as needed to support communication and streamline production phases.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques, including a Kaizen focus.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
