She has been interning at The Oregonian this summer. She previously interned at the Orlando Sentinel and The Chronicle of Higher Education. Gary is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she was editor in chief of the Independent Florida Alligator. She also was managing editor of Atrium Magazine.

The newsroom-powered tool offers subscribers daily newsletters, legislative tracking, and a searchable database of bills and regulations. The platform targets professionals including developers, attorneys, lenders, and lobbyists navigating increasingly complex legislation affecting rent regulation, zoning, and taxation. The Real Deal hires Elshahawy as a Miami reporter. May 26, 2026. Posted by chris roush. Real estate news organization The Real Deal has hired Eman Elshahawy as a reporter in Miami. She has been at The South Florida Business Journal for the past five years, most recently as banking and finance reporter. She was also a digital producer and a data reporter. As data reporter, Elshahawy also worked at The Miami Times. Elshahawy is a graduate of University of Florida's journalism and communications program.
Ellen Cranley has been named deputy managing editor at The Real Deal, a real estate publication.
