Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • NICET Level III or IV certification is required.
  • Two or more years of United States-based experience in fire protection system design.
  • Proficiency in design software such as REVIT and AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing and fire protection codes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proven client-growth mindset to pursue business opportunities and win new work.
  • A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record are required for occasional travel.
Responsibilities
  • Consult and collaborate with clients to understand project vision.
  • Interpret architectural design plans and research appropriate protection systems for project scope.
  • Use engineering design software to design fire protection systems, including suppression, sprinkler, smoke detection, and alarm systems.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations, fire detection design, fire pump design, water storage tank design, and code analysis.
  • Conduct fire-resistant construction analysis.
  • Perform inspections of existing sprinkler systems.
  • Research fire protection and life safety concepts and equipment to support project design.
  • Partner with the Operations Manager to identify and pursue new business opportunities, drive revenue growth, and expand market presence.
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering licensure is preferred, or the ability to obtain it after hire.
