Requirements
  • Three years of motor winding experience are required.
  • Three years of electric motor repair experience are required.
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment such as meggar, hi-pot, AC or DC test panels, and related equipment.
  • Ability to disassemble identified equipment, cut and burn electrical windings, and identify and document internal winding data.
  • Ability to convert internal winding data as applicable per Electrical Apparatus Service Association guidelines.
  • Ability to use core test equipment and programs and proper tools to repair or modify existing cores to meet test criteria.
  • Ability to correctly size and wind coils or wire, insert wire, and perform wedging, tying, and end-clearance proofing.
  • Ability to use the correct connection sequence and equipment for final soldering, brazing, or welding of internal coil leads to exterior leads.
Responsibilities
  • Collect external and internal data for AC and DC motors, generators, coils, and other electromechanical equipment.
  • Identify equipment needing repair and diagnose or test existing equipment for malfunctions, failures, or damage.
  • Perform data collection and rewinding of AC and DC electric motors, generators, armatures, rotors, transformers, magnet coils, brake coils, and related electrical components.
  • Perform brazing, soldering, and welding of copper, aluminum, steel, and other materials.
  • Insulate cores and component parts applicable to the equipment.
  • Perform final electrical, mechanical, and quality testing of windings, insulation, and connections, and document all results.
  • Apply fit, thread, and identification coating for insulating varnish application after successful post-winding testing.
  • Dip and bake windings, clean coated fits, threads, and identification plates, and perform final testing and documentation when applicable.
  • Assist other departments with skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by the supervisor or manager.

Galco acquires Ad-Tech CCI to expand automation solutions in Mid-Atlantic region

Galco Industrial Electronics has acquired Ad-Tech CCI, a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania-based distributor of industrial controls, automation components and identification products. The deal strengthens Galco's presence in the Mid-Atlantic region and expands service capabilities for both companies' customers. Founded in 1986, Ad-Tech has served manufacturers for nearly four decades with products including circuit breakers, PLCs, power supplies, relays and sensors. The acquisition combines Ad-Tech's industrial controls expertise with Galco's e-commerce platform, inventory and supply chain capabilities, engineering resources and repair services.
