About the job

Requirements
  • Substantial first-hand experience inside commercial banking, such as as a treasury management officer or sales/product lead, commercial relationship manager, or commercial product manager serving mid-market and small and medium-sized business clients.
  • Working command of how commercial banks make money from operating relationships, including treasury and payments fee structures, deposit economics, foreign exchange, card, supply chain finance, and working capital products, and how these are priced, bundled, and cross-sold.
  • Deep familiarity with how banks organize coverage, including relationship manager and treasury management officer territory models, portfolio segmentation, call planning, and practical constraints that determine whether a client receives proactive advice.
  • Ability to translate domain expertise into product requirements and explain why an insight will or will not resonate with a banker and what would change that outcome.
  • Credibility and composure in front of senior bank executives, with experience engaging with heads of treasury management, commercial banking, or product at a significant institution.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI-assisted banking workflows; familiarity with copilot-style tools such as Microsoft Copilot and an informed point of view on where AI helps bankers.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving scale-up with significant opportunity to influence its future success.
Responsibilities
  • Work with Product Managers to define actionable insights and determine which signals matter across Treasury and Payments, foreign exchange, supply chain finance, working capital, and lending, what bankers need to see to act, and what is actionable in a client conversation.
  • Bring the daily reality of commercial bankers and treasury management officers into product decisions, including coverage models, portfolio reviews, pre-call preparation, annual pricing conversations, and cross-sell motions.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams building the Banking Context Engine and its integration with Microsoft Copilot, translating banking domain knowledge into concrete requirements, evaluation criteria, and quality standards for generated insights.
  • Join sales conversations, demonstrations, and executive meetings with prospective and customer banks as a banking subject matter expert; support discovery and help the go-to-market team test messaging against how banks buy.
  • Build return-on-investment narratives connecting the product's insights to fee revenue growth from existing clients, expanded coverage without added headcount, and client retention against fintech competition.
  • Codify banker workflows, product economics, organizational structures, and buying dynamics into reusable assets that improve banking fluency across the company.

About the company

Codat provides a data-integration platform for financial institutions and fintechs to automate and streamline access to customer financial data. It enables real-time reading, writing, and updating of data through multiple SDKs and libraries, with an easy authorization system for secure data sharing. The platform takes on ongoing maintenance, optimizations, and edge-case fixes so clients can launch new integrations quickly (weeks, not months) and focus on building products for their customers. Codat differentiates itself by offering end-to-end data integration management, maintenance, and security, rather than requiring clients to build and maintain these connections themselves. The company aims to accelerate underwriting and lending workflows for small businesses by providing reliable, scalable data access and smarter risk decisions through easy access to financial data.

Getting On Board: How Supplier Enablement Is Unlocking The Benefits Of Virtual Cards

Historically, B2B payments have often played out like a tug-of-war, with buyers aiming to retain their cash as long as possible while suppliers seek prompt payment. As a result, innovations that benefit both sides are often viewed through the lens of competing interests. Virtual cards, for example, offer a compelling solution for accounts payable (AP) teams. With features like enhanced security, improved spend management, and the ability to earn supplier rebates and discounts, virtual cards enable buyers to streamline AP processes and boost profitability. At the same time, these tools deliver advantages to suppliers’ accounts receivable (AR) teams, such as faster payments and improved cash flow. Despite these benefits, some suppliers remain hesitant to embrace virtual card payments

Over Two-Thirds Of Midsized Us Businesses Are ‘Polybanking,’ Survey Finds

Midsized businesses in the U.S. are moving away from traditional single-bank relationships in favor of a more diversified approach, according to data insights platform Codat. The data comes from a survey of 500 midsized businesses earning between $10M and $1B, and found that 68% now work with more banks than they did three to five years ago, making ‘polybanking’ the new banking relationship norm. The data found that 50% of businesses surveyed work with three or more banks, signalling that competition is intensifying in the midmarket, and technology is emerging as the top differentiator. Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase came out as the leading primary banks for most businesses, but their competitive advantage isn’t just customer service—it’s technology. Roughly one-third (33%) of finance leaders say advanced online features are their top priority when choosing a banking partner.Despite the dominance of major banks, businesses are sourcing just 63% of their financial services from their primary institution, highlighting an increasing reliance on alternative providers. More than a third (37%) of mid-sized businesses are now engaging with fintechs or neobanks to fill gaps left by traditional banks. As businesses increasingly rely on cloud-based apps for a comprehensive view of their financial health, they are becoming more willing to share their data in exchange for smarter, more tailored financial services.Over half (53%) of businesses surveyed are open to the idea of granting banks continuous access to their financial data—provided security measures are robust

This problem is solved by combining Codat’s purpose-built supplier and spend data solution and PayTech’s market-leading spend and transaction analysis tool and $5 trillion proprietary data lake, OPTIMA
