About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data and analytics is required.
  • Experience developing technology solutions and evangelizing end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing is required.
  • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level audiences, through training, workshops, or publications is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with customer teams to understand business requirements, existing contact center architecture, and AI readiness, and translate findings into actionable implementation plans.
  • Conduct data readiness assessments of customer data assets, including CRMs, knowledge bases, ticketing systems, and order management systems; identify data gaps, recommend remediation strategies, and help build the data foundation required for AI agent tool use and retrieval-augmented generation responses.
  • Design and configure agentic AI solutions within Amazon Connect, including AI agent creation, prompt engineering, model selection, guardrail configuration, and tool and action integration.
  • Architect Agent-to-Agent communication patterns enabling Amazon Connect AI agents to collaborate with specialized agents across the enterprise and support multi-agent workflows across organizational boundaries.
  • Build serverless integrations using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, and Python or Node.js scripting to connect Amazon Connect AI agents with customer data systems such as CRMs, ERPs, databases, and knowledge bases.
  • Architect secure access patterns to cloud-based data systems that power AI agent tool use and retrieval-augmented generation.
  • Use agentic development environments such as Kiro and similar AI-assisted IDEs to accelerate development workflows, including spec-driven development, agent hooks, MCP server configuration, and AI-assisted code generation.
  • Guide customers through testing, evaluation, and validation of AI agent performance against defined success criteria before production deployment.
  • Share learnings through technical deep-dives and mentor other solutions architects on agentic AI implementation patterns.
  • Conduct data readiness assessments, identify knowledge-base coverage gaps, and recommend data preparation steps before AI agent configuration.
  • Design prompt strategies and evaluate model performance across different foundation models.
  • Build Lambda functions and API integrations that serve as tools for AI agents.
  • Configure MCP servers to expose customer APIs, databases, and tools in a standardized format for agent consumption.
  • Design Agent-to-Agent workflows in which Amazon Connect agents hand off to or collaborate with specialized agents across a customer's enterprise.
  • Configure knowledge bases and data connectors for retrieval-augmented-generation-powered agent responses.
  • Run evaluation frameworks to measure AI agent accuracy, latency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and provide prescriptive guidance for production readiness.
  • Document implementation patterns and contribute to the team's knowledge base.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with agentic AI patterns, including multi-agent orchestration, tool use, function calling, chain-of-thought reasoning, and autonomous agent workflows.
  • Experience with customer experience or contact-center-as-a-service adjacent capabilities, including analytics, workforce management, workforce optimization, and CRM technologies.
  • Familiarity with interoperability protocols such as MCP (Model Context Protocol) for standardized tool integration and/or A2A (Agent-to-Agent) for multi-agent communication.
  • Experience with Amazon Connect or other enterprise contact center platforms such as Genesys, Avaya, Cisco, NICE, or Five9.

About the Company

Amazon

Sells products online and rents cloud computing

Amazon runs the largest online store in the United States and rents cloud computing to businesses and governments through Amazon Web Services. AWS pioneered renting computing power over the internet, and Amazon built its own delivery network to get orders to customers quickly. Shoppers buy from Amazon and from independent sellers on its store, and Prime members pay a subscription for fast free shipping, streaming video and music, and other perks. AWS rents out computing power, storage, databases, and AI tools so companies can run software without owning servers, and Amazon also makes Kindle e-readers and Echo speakers with the Alexa assistant. Jeff Bezos founded Amazon in 1994, and it is based in Seattle, Washington.
