Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 6+ years of medical device experience in Canadian third-party and provincial reimbursement procedures.
  • Related business experience with product submissions, tenders, and negotiations with national and regional, public and private payers for health insurance and coverage for people living with diabetes.
  • Experience building and gathering intelligence and insights in the payer environment.
  • Experience calling on and developing relationships with provincial and private payers.
  • An in-depth understanding of healthcare systems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop contacts and relationships throughout public and private insurance companies at operational, strategic, and executive levels, understand key organizational players, and influence them to drive business objectives.
  • Create, disseminate, and manage provincial submissions from concept to approval through provincial pipelines.
  • Handle concepts and complexities associated with the payer environment.
  • Align activities with pricing strategy.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the payer environment and provincial differences, as well as the diabetes community.
  • Provide information critical to the Insulet mission to Marketing, Sales, Reimbursement, and Inside Sales colleagues.
  • Provide feedback to individuals to support effective decision-making throughout the organization.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Reimbursement, and Inside Sales on strategic planning and execution related to coverage, adoption, cycle-time reduction, and account- or market-specific opportunities and challenges.
  • Establish relationships with, or reliable access to, key payer stakeholders and related influence groups affecting product access for healthcare providers and people living with diabetes.
  • Leverage published market data and the internal customer relationship management system to generate market-access insights.
  • Perform other duties as required.
