Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- At least 15 years of fundraising experience is required, including significant success closing major gifts of $100,000 and above.
- Experience in annual alumni funds across varying educational entities is required.
- Demonstrated success leading comprehensive advancement operations is required.
- Experience managing fundraising staff, volunteers, and major donor relationships is required.
- Strong leadership abilities focused on team development and motivation are required.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging internal and external stakeholders are required.
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse constituencies, including donors and university leadership, is required.
- Strategic thinking with a track record of achieving ambitious goals is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising database software, specifically Raiser’s Edge, is required.
- The role requires extensive computer use and sitting or standing, and the ability to lift up to 5 pounds.
- Travel is required as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Organize and implement fundraising strategies, including identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from portfolio lists generated from Raiser’s Edge and other Institutional Advancement research programs.
- Manage a portfolio of new prospects and lapsed donors, focusing on gifts of $18,000 and above, with an expectation of at least five one-on-one visits per month.
- Assist with further implementation of the Graduway platform and serve as the liaison between Graduway and the schools to integrate it into the alumni program.
- Consult and advise Touro Institutional Advancement team members on fundraising activities and provide information needed to set fundraising goals with the university's Institutional Advancement Department using database information.
- Collaborate with other professionals to enhance donor and prospect event experiences and coordinate events with major fundraising components, including galas and dinners.
- Contribute to developing and implementing a social marketing strategy, including website e-philanthropy and direct mail in schools.
- Identify and manage a targeted alumni portfolio database to solicit major gifts through an ongoing program in consultation with the central Institutional Advancement office.
- Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing Department to create presentations for major gift donors.
- Speak on behalf of the institution at events and other public functions when necessary.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Institutional Advancement team and foster a positive, collaborative work environment in consultation with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
- Develop and manage budgets for fundraising and alumni relations initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance against established goals with the Executive Vice President and Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
- Maintain detailed documentation of fundraising strategies and processes.
- Conduct prospect and donor research using available search engines and systems, such as the Hatch AI system.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Desired Qualifications
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of school advancement and alumni affairs is preferred.
