Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in art history, museum studies, library sciences, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data-entry tools.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Availability to travel for required site visits.
  • Understanding and proficiency with Microsoft Office and business technology.
  • Ability to quickly learn additional tools as necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of artworks, verify physical conditions, and assign unique inventory codes for tracking.
  • Create and maintain detailed artwork records, including titles, artist details, dimensions, and acquisition data.
  • Capture high-quality artwork images for catalog inclusion and insurance purposes, and systematically organize the files.
  • Input and annotate detailed data attributes in spreadsheets while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
  • Research artist backgrounds, origins, and artwork provenance to provide additional catalog context.
  • Document physical conditions, note damage or restoration needs, and suggest preservation recommendations.
  • Record acquisition details, including purchase dates, vendor information, and associated costs such as shipping and framing.
  • Classify artworks by type, genre, or theme to improve collection usability and accessibility.
  • Compile records for insurance purposes and identify preservation needs to protect collection value.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize tasks, prepare detailed reports, and summarize collection updates.
  • Establish, manage, pursue, and achieve annual goals and objectives with documented goals for the firm's eight global competencies.
  • Support business development and other efforts on behalf of ProSidian Consulting.
