Technical Writer Defense
About the job
- A BAC+2 to BAC+5 qualification in maintenance engineering or technical writing is required.
- Confirmed experience writing and updating technical documentation is required.
- Knowledge of S1000D and S2000M writing standards is required.
- Prior experience in the aerospace or defense field is required.
- Technical English proficiency and facility with computer tools such as Word and Excel are required.
- The position may require access to information classified as a national defense secret, in which case the selected candidate will undergo a security clearance procedure.
- Create technical manuals describing the operation, functioning, and maintenance of systems.
- Prepare and update Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documents, including maintenance plans, troubleshooting research, logistics breakdown structures, and stock documentation.
- Write user and maintenance documentation.
- Create or modify technical illustrations.
- Write Data Modules (DM) using S1000D.
- Create troubleshooting flowcharts.
- Write course materials.
