Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in cost estimating with a construction focus
  • Degree in a construction related discipline
  • Provide design stage cost planning, cost estimating and value engineering
  • Capable of Architectural and Structural quantity takeoff
  • Ability to build Cost Reports/Estimates for review by others
  • A basic understanding of MEP systems and estimating
  • Strong computer skillset with Excel
  • Estimating experience with vertical construction / buildings
  • Understanding of basic construction estimating metrics
  • Worked on both large and small commercial projects
  • Experience with basic change order requests and processes
  • Understanding of local and national market pricing
  • Familiarity with quantity takeoff software (Cost-X and Bluebeam preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBi a bonus
Responsibilities
  • Be a part of client meetings and reconciliation with contractors
  • Advise clients on cost drivers, cost reductions, benchmarks, and current market conditions
  • Eager and looking to grow into a Project Controls role
  • Start working with schedules and the risk management process
  • Have limited experience with BIM/ Revit for quantity takeoffs
  • Develop market research, implement company training initiatives
  • Work with and set up projects with the accounting team
  • Support the proposals process and reply to RFP’s
  • Attend network events and start honing Business Develop skills
  • Chase projects, present to clients and build public speaking skills
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with quantity takeoff software (Cost-X and Bluebeam preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBi a bonus
