Requirements
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED), with a bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Yardi Voyager, and Internet software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and presentation abilities.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, including the ability to handle confrontations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, negotiation, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before customers, residents, or employees.
  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and perform the listed physical activities, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional, friendly, and inviting atmosphere at the community.
  • Lease available units consistently to optimize occupancy.
  • Use the company customer relationship management system according to company standards and develop expert system knowledge to meet company metrics and property-level occupancy and leasing expectations.
  • Maintain positive relationships with current residents to support lease renewals.
  • Show available amenities, model apartments, and available apartments professionally.
  • Process prospect applications, verify documentation completeness, and confirm company qualifications before handing applications to a supervisor for approval.
  • Ensure applicant credit checks, employment verification, and landlord references are completed to company standards.
  • Prepare accurate and timely leases and move-in packets and arrange lease signing before move-in.
  • Manage the lease renewal process, including resident communications, the lease renewal tracker, renewal paperwork, and file completion.
  • Maintain prospect, traffic, rental record, and other pertinent leasing data logs.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and current resident files and perform office filing as needed.
  • Maintain product knowledge of the community and major competitors through site visits, tours, shops, telephone surveys, and follow-ups.
  • Maintain a professional, organized office environment that meets safety standards.
  • Work with colleagues and the Community Director to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies.
  • Inform maintenance staff about possible property issues.
  • Review vacant apartments to ensure they are clean, presentable, and appealing to prospects.
  • Accept resident service requests, coordinate completion with maintenance staff, and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Attend work as scheduled and perform other assigned duties and special projects.
