GoNetspeed is expanding. Here's what you can expect. By GoNetspeed Published October 21, 2026 at 1:00 PM This fall, more New Jersey residents will gain access to something many communities have been waiting for: GoNetspeed's 100% fiber internet network. As GoNetspeed continues its rapid expansion across the Northeast, the company is moving forward with an initial $110 million investment to expand its fiber network throughout New Jersey. Locally, construction is now underway in South River, East Brunswick, Parlin, and Rahway. With construction actively progressing, residents may already be noticing GoNetspeed crews in their neighborhoods as the company lays the groundwork for service in the near future. So, what exactly can New Jerseyans expect this fall? Get local news you can trust in your inbox. More Choice Is Coming For many households, internet service has become just as essential as electricity and water. Whether it's working remotely, streaming movies, attending virtual classes, gaming, or simply staying connected with family and friends, reliable internet matters. As GoNetspeed's network becomes available in more neighborhoods, residents will gain another option for high-speed internet service - one built on 100% fiber technology and designed to meet the demands of today's connected lifestyle, with symmetrical upload and download speeds of up to 6 Gbps. What Makes GoNetspeed's Fiber Different? GoNetspeed delivers 100% fiber-optic internet, which works differently from traditional cable or copper-based service. Instead of relying on older infrastructure, fiber uses light signals to transmit data, allowing for faster speeds and more consistent performance. One of the key advantages of fiber technology is symmetrical speeds, meaning upload speeds are just as fast as download speeds. As one of the largest independent internet providers in the Northeast, GoNetspeed has been nationally recognized for its high-performance connectivity and was named PCMag's Fastest Overall ISP for Gaming in 2026. That level of connectivity can make a difference across everything from video calls and cloud-based work to sharing large files and gaming online. For households balancing remote work, online learning, streaming, gaming, and everyday browsing across multiple devices, GoNetspeed's fiber is designed to keep up with demand without slowing down. Why Am I Seeing Construction? If you've noticed crews working along roadways or utility poles, you're seeing the first phase of bringing fiber internet to your community. Building a fiber network requires installing infrastructure that will serve homes and businesses for years to come. Residents may also notice temporary utility markings and flags, which help crews safely identify existing underground utilities before construction begins. While construction can look different from one neighborhood to another, crews work to minimize disruptions and restore affected areas once work is complete. Now that you know more about GoNetspeed's fiber, you may be wondering when service will become available in your area. Because fiber networks are built in phases, availability will vary by neighborhood. As construction continues this fall, more homes and businesses will become eligible for service and installation. Residents can visit gonetspeed.com/nj/ to check availability and sign up for updates to stay informed as new areas come online. Once service becomes available, signing up is simple. Customers can schedule a professional installation appointment, during which a technician will connect their home to the fiber network and install the necessary equipment. After installation, residents can begin using a connection designed for everyday life, whether that's streaming, gaming, remote work, video calls, or connecting multiple devices at once. Looking Ahead This fall marks an exciting milestone for communities across New Jersey as GoNetspeed continues expanding its footprint throughout the state and begins connecting residents to its 100% fiber network. South River, East Brunswick, Rahway, and Parlin are on track to come online this fall, bringing residents and businesses a new choice for fast, reliable fiber internet. As more neighborhoods come online in the coming months, thousands of New Jersey households and businesses will gain access to future-ready fiber internet, with many more following closely behind. To explore more, check availability, or receive updates on construction and service launches in your area, visit gonetspeed.com. And, stay tuned! GoNetspeed's $4.5M Parlin build: what it means for your crew. GoNetspeed just broke ground on a $4.5 million fiber build in Parlin, New Jersey. Construction is already moving. If you run crews in the Northeast and you're not already talking to this ISP, that's the decision on your desk this week. Who GoNetspeed is and why it matters to your pipeline. GoNetspeed calls itself the Northeast's largest independent fiber internet provider. That's not a small claim. Independent ISPs at that scale move faster than the big telcos. They don't run every build through six layers of procurement. They pick contractors who can perform and keep them busy. A $4.5 million project in one New Jersey community is a signal. It's not the whole story. ISPs at this growth stage tend to stack builds. Parlin is likely one of several active or planned expansions in the region. If they're satisfied with the contractor on this job, that relationship carries forward. A $4.5 million fiber build in a suburban New Jersey community typically means aerial and underground drops, strand lashing, handhole installs, and last-mile connections to homes. It's the kind of work that runs 8 to 12 field techs for several months. You're looking at crew-weeks, not crew-days. The contractors who land these jobs aren't usually the lowest bidder. They're the ones the ISP's construction manager already trusts. That trust gets built before the RFP hits, not after. The Northeast is active right now and BEAD is still coming. New Jersey has a BEAD allocation sitting in the process. BEAD, the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment program, is federal funding run through state broadband offices to connect unserved and underserved locations. That money hasn't hit the ground yet, but private ISP builds like this one are already moving. GoNetspeed isn't waiting on federal timelines. That's the pattern worth watching. Private-capital builds are outpacing BEAD right now in the Northeast. If you're holding out for BEAD subgrant work to materialize, you may be sitting while your competitors are in the field building relationships with ISPs who have real money in motion today. Here's the call you have to make. If you're a telecom contractor running crews in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania, GoNetspeed is worth a direct outreach. Not a cold email. A conversation. Find the construction or operations contact, not the sales team. Ask who manages their build program. Ask if they're bringing on additional contractors for current or upcoming expansions. You won't get a contract from one call. But you won't get one from zero calls either. I've seen this play out with independent ISPs across the region. The contractor who shows up early and asks smart questions is the one who gets the call when a slot opens. One more thing. Before you make that call, get your house in order. Current COI, bonding capacity, crew count, and a clear answer to the question: how quickly can you mobilize? ISPs running active builds don't have time for contractors who need two weeks to figure out if they can take the work. What to watch next. GoNetspeed's Parlin build is the news. The real question is what comes after it. Track their press releases and permit filings in adjacent New Jersey communities. Middlesex County, where Parlin sits, has dense residential areas that fit exactly the profile ISPs like GoNetspeed target. Stay close to this one. The contractor who builds the relationship before the RFP drops is the one who wins the work after it does. Gil Ramirez founded Telecom Contractor Solutions in Houston. He works inside the back office of fiber and low voltage contractors running 5 to 25 crews, on the billing, the job costing, and the cash flow that follows both. Recent client work: cutting days out of the gap between work complete and invoice sent, and getting an owner lender ready for a $1M real estate loan plus $300K in working capital.
