The platform is designed to enhance traditional schooling or support homeschooling by providing flexible learning options. Parents can browse a variety of classes covering academic subjects, creative arts, and afterschool activities, allowing them to supplement their child's education with specialized topics not typically found in schools. Outschool operates on a marketplace model, connecting teachers with students and generating revenue through class fees, taking a commission from each enrollment. This approach allows for a diverse range of classes tailored to the interests of students.
