Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant is required.
  • One year of healthcare experience is required.
  • The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
  • The role requires the ability to adapt to changing environments, use and learn software applications, organize and prioritize work, and work independently and in a team setting.
  • The role requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, walk, and perform normal rotation during an 8-12 hour shift.
  • The role requires the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • The role may require travel between facilities.
Responsibilities
  • Perform basic nursing skills under the direction and supervision of the practice physician, advanced practice professional, and/or registered nursing staff.
  • Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, obtain initial information, and record vital signs.
  • Prepare exam rooms by maintaining cleanliness and ensuring supplies are available.
  • Assist with or perform exams, tests, and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and establish referral contacts as needed.
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Educate patients on follow-up expectations.
  • Maintain required quality control testing logs.
  • Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Assist patients with completing medical documentation.
  • Work closely with others, work protracted or irregular hours, and work around biohazards, infectious diseases, and water.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
