Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Tandon leadership team to develop and enhance Tandon's global reputation and visibility.
  • Build on current industry and corporate relationships and develop a new prospect pipeline.
  • Identify, develop, and steward funding opportunities, with primary emphasis on research funding.
  • Build industry connections associated with highly competitive research proposals.
  • Serve as the point of contact for industry inquiries and requests.
  • Lead business development functions.
  • Contribute to branding and marketing messages.
  • Plan agendas for industry visits and research reviews to drive and sustain corporate investment in the campus.
  • Deliver new industry partnerships to support current and future research and education initiatives.
  • Grow the school's industry-based development support.
Desired Qualifications
  • A doctoral degree, MBA, or PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or a related STEM field is preferred.
  • A master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Background conducting academic research in engineering is preferred.
  • Management-level experience supervising and leading initiatives is preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategies for acquiring new leads and retaining and upgrading existing leads and relationships is preferred.
  • Experience initiating new and innovative engagement and outreach programs is preferred.
  • Experience working in a setting with changing priorities and an evolving list of stakeholders is preferred.
  • Political savvy, integrity, discretion, pragmatic consensus-building skills, and mature judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information are preferred.

New York University (NYU) and KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) formed a cross-continental partnership in 2022 to boost research, education, and industry collaboration. The collaboration combines NYU’s and KAIST’s strengths to create joint programs and a shared presence in New York City. It brings together more than 200 faculty from both institutions to pursue joint research and education initiatives, including dual-degree programs at undergraduate and graduate levels and study-away and exchange opportunities. Unlike typical single-country collaborations, this partnership connects U.S. and Korean academic ecosystems to tackle global challenges, expand cross-border innovation, and attract industrial investments. The goal is to build a durable ecosystem that accelerates discovery, entrepreneurship, and the translation of research into real-world impact through academic programs, collaborations, and a broader joint presence in New York.
