Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Master’s or Doctoral-level Family Nurse Practitioner program, with prior graduation from an accredited nursing school.
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license with maintained Registered Nurse licensure, in accordance with state requirements.
  • Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through AANP or ANCC.
  • Active multi-state licensure.
  • Minimum 3+ years post-training experience in high-volume Urgent Care or Primary Care settings.
  • Experience providing care to newborns through adult populations.
  • Ability to function within an integrated medical practice.
  • Strong clinical acumen and ability to manage a broad range of conditions.
  • Proficiency with technology and electronic medical records.
  • Maintain active Medicare status, in good standing with Medicare and Medicaid, and not excluded from participation in federal health programs.
  • Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location.
  • Ability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, computer, and other office-related equipment.
  • No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 pounds of force may be required.
  • Ability to interact with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct age-appropriate history and virtual exams.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of conditions across the lifespan.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Develop and document treatment plans in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Manage acute, chronic, and mental health conditions for pediatric and adult patients.
  • Request consultation or referral with other health care providers when appropriate.
  • Counsel and educate patients and families on treatment plans.
  • Maintain current knowledge of clinical best practices and evidence-based care.
  • Offer scheduling flexibility, including evenings and weekends.
  • Recommend a minimum of 25% of prescheduled time on weekends and after 5 p.m. local time.
  • Maintain a minimum of 8 scheduled hours every quarter to stay active as an IH Direct independent contractor.
  • Set a schedule 30 days in advance, with potential to join additional ad hoc shifts.
  • Maintain 90% schedule adherence.
Desired Qualifications
  • Active multi-state licensure with 5 or more licenses preferred.
  • Prior telemedicine or video-based virtual care experience.
  • Experience with Athena electronic medical record.
