Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Hold valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure from the State of Alabama.
  • Hold valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification or valid Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification in CT.
Responsibilities
  • Exercise professional judgment while performing services and maintain a demeanor complementary to quality care.
  • Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to each imaging modality.
  • Adhere to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assess the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Provide instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Perform proper patient identification, acquire the patient’s clinical history, and ensure the information is accurately documented.
  • Position the patient, equipment, and associated devices, and manipulate technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring all relevant anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Apply radiation safety principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Understand and comply with Quality Control standards and participate in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without power injectors.
  • Perform venipuncture and evaluate IV access for contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Administer medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication or other emergencies.
  • Apply standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Assist in supervising student technologists and training new technologists.
  • Use Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensure the safety of all customers.
  • Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
