Responsibilities
  • Work with Electrical Self-Perform and Procurement to support safety, design, quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
  • Manage the warehousing process, including leases, security, utilities, labor, equipment, inventory, and related operational issues, and work with Accounting on inventory journal entries.
  • Ensure materials arrive at the correct site at the correct time, notify project staff, check materials against delivery tickets, update delivery logs and CMiC, and notify suppliers of deficiencies.
  • Coordinate communication among all electrical functions working on a project.
  • Promote the company's safety culture by providing clear vision, processes, and tools.
  • Own safety team agreements.
  • Assist Project Management with owner-contract management, including deliverables, notices, costs, and change orders.
  • Work with Project Management to create the electrical project budget, upload it into CMiC, and use the estimate summary as the budget basis.
  • Work with Project Management on buyout of electrical-related subcontracts, vendor agreements, and professional service agreements, prioritizing schedule when required.
  • Assist Scheduling with creating and updating project schedules.
  • Review subcontractor, vendor, and supplier payment requests and work with Accounting to ensure timely payments.
  • Approve subcontractor, vendor, and miscellaneous invoices through Workflow at least weekly.
  • Approve electrical expense reports.
  • Work with Quality to manage the electrical portion of Moss Solar's Quality Management Plan.
  • Ensure underground locates and dig permits are completed on time and work with Operations and Safety to enforce completion before ground penetrations.
  • Work with Project Management, Mechanical, and Electrical to order, track, and call off rental equipment.
  • Review Moss-owned equipment charges for accuracy.
  • Procure testing equipment, obtain and file calibration certificates, manage recalibration, and coordinate with Commissioning.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings with electrical staff.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with major subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and Moss field staff.
  • Help Project Management prepare for and present monthly project risk reviews.
  • Perform bi-monthly cost projections for electrical work and permanent electrical materials.
  • Participate in 30/60/90/IFC drawing reviews with a focus on lessons learned.
  • Work with Engineering, Mechanical, and Electrical to plan work flow by analyzing PV module bin-class layouts, module delivery schedules, civil flow, and circuit turnover dates.
  • Coordinate PV module whip lengths with Mechanical for skip-stringing and module-orientation approaches.
  • Work with Project Management and Electrical to update the self-perform budget tracker.
  • Perform a bill-of-materials takeoff of the entire electrical system to identify discrepancies.
  • Assist Project Management with cost control, including assigning PCI numbers in CMiC to cost impacts.
  • Assist with the construction RFI process and work with Engineering on the preconstruction RFI process.
  • Document meetings when necessary.
  • Communicate regularly with Commissioning regarding schedule, manpower, and other needs.
  • Participate actively in internship recruiting.
  • Notify suppliers immediately when materials do not conform to agreements and maintain communication until issues are resolved.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure proper packaging prevents storage damage and work with Electrical Self-Perform to provide adequate site storage or covering according to manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Participate in jobsite preconstruction meetings with subcontractors, including setting safety expectations where applicable.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
