Requirements
  • Understand troubleshooting diesel engine systems with electronic control module diagnostic programs and other troubleshooting techniques.
  • Be capable of diagnosing, repairing, and replacing external engine components.
  • Test and repair entire truck chassis electrical systems.
  • Develop skills to become proficient in repairing all major power and drivetrain components.
  • Effectively and efficiently perform preventive maintenance inspections and services according to company policy and time standards.
  • Be able to repair, adjust, and align suspension systems and brake systems.
  • Maintain the tire maintenance program according to company policy.
  • Perform service calls according to company or location guidelines.
  • Perform vehicle road tests when qualified.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment that complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and company standards.
  • Record all work and labor on a computer in the equipment maintenance system.
  • Work with the Parts Department to maintain necessary material, parts, service supplies, and shop supplies at proper quantity levels.
  • Comply with all Parts Department procedures and rules.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Have basic math skills.
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be able to pass a drug screen.
  • Be able to perform routine physical tasks associated with equipment maintenance and repair, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, lifting, and using hand and power tools.
Responsibilities

  • Wash and fuel equipment when necessary.
  • Perform other maintenance duties or assignments as necessary.
