About the job

Requirements
  • Requires 1–3 years of experience in markets or trading risk, with direct fixed-income exposure in rates, credit, or fixed-income derivatives.
  • Requires hands-on experience with trading-book risk metrics, including Value at Risk, Expected Shortfall, DV01/duration, and limits on live positions.
  • A trading or front-office background is preferred over a control or back-office path.
  • CFA, FRM, or PRM credentials, completed or in progress, are a plus.
  • Requires a degree in finance, economics, or a similar field.
  • Requires fluency in English and Mandarin; Cantonese is a plus.
  • Hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or trading desk background is highly preferred; commercial or retail banking, insurance, treasury/ALM, and compliance- or control-led risk backgrounds are not a fit.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor the trading book daily by measuring and reporting exposures against limits, with a focus on fixed income.
  • Run Value at Risk, Expected Shortfall, stress tests, and scenario analysis, and monitor rates and credit risk.
  • Track limits and flag risks associated with new strategies, products, and markets before they go live.
  • Prepare risk reporting for senior management and the Board.
  • Escalate promptly when limits, policies, or governance standards are at risk.
  • Support regulatory responses, including those involving the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, and routine counterparty matters as directed.
