Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Organize and direct subordinate staff, develop and communicate performance metrics, and attend meetings internal and external to the university.
  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate training; teach groups of employees; assess training needs; develop, write, review, present, and document training, communications, and staff development programs.
  • Work varying shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and occasionally more than eight hours.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct a quality-assurance program to ensure cleaning services are consistent with established standards.
  • Interpret the quality-assurance philosophy for key personnel and develop approaches to solve problems identified during quality-assurance activities.
  • Keep the management team informed of significant issues or developments identified during quality-assurance activities and actions taken to improve.
  • Gather information to evaluate work processes, including workflow, time requirements, costs, and duration.
  • Develop strategies and programs that improve department productivity and work-process efficiency.
  • Aid employee teams in building cohesiveness and improving the overall results of their tasks.
  • Maintain department training records.
  • Edit and publish presentations, training schedules, trainer and classroom utilization information, newsletters, handouts, reports, and operating procedures.
  • Coordinate training with other University of Texas organizations and departments.
  • Train instructors, inspectors, analysts, and supervisory staff in new employee orientation, on-the-job training, cleaning-process issues, and Custodial Services policies and practices.
  • Coordinate training-related travel.
  • Work occasional travel assignments.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with overlapping deadlines, direct client contact, and team-based operations.
  • Act on behalf of peers and the Director, respond to clients, travel to meetings, manage projects, and serve on committees.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • More than five years of supervisory experience in a large facilities or production organization.
  • Experience managing a training organization composed of multiple trainers.
  • Professional certification in training or training management.
  • Experience with the OS1 Cleaning Program and familiarity with work loading and process compliance.
  • Project management proficiency.
  • Quality assurance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience training a workforce.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages such as English, Spanish, American Sign Language, French, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Portuguese, and Vietnamese.
