Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, engineering management, or a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of experience in body electrical and electromechanical areas and relevant automotive assignments, covering all phases of product development (design, test, and launch).
  • Strong technical skills and expertise in body control systems, employing a six-sigma approach to engineering design and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the department responsible for body controls and electronics for all new products.
  • Work with Cariad, key VW Group module owners, and suppliers to release all appropriate body control components.
  • Build and coach a diverse team while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Lead the collaborative design and creation of a simulation environment for testing new body system concepts.
  • Develop prototypes for virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
  • Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
  • Stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements.
  • Contribute to the design of production facilities for body systems of Scout trucks & SUVs.
  • Manage resources efficiently including infrastructure, financial, supplier partners, and people.
  • Be a key member and decision maker within the technical leadership team and liaison with all Scout functions.
