Brandon Wiener and Milan Vukovic join McCarthy Tétrault, bolstering its Private Client Tax Planning practice. October 14, 2026 News McCarthy Tétrault LLP is pleased to welcome Brandon Wiener and Milan Vukovic to McCarthy Tétrault as Partners in its Toronto office and members of its National Tax Group. Brandon will lead its expanded Private Client Tax Planning practice, building upon its existing expertise and working with Mike Dolson, Troy McEachren and Milan to advise high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners and family offices on Canadian tax planning, including cross-border and international matters. Their arrival strengthens its ability to help private clients navigate complex tax planning and related private wealth matters within a national, full-service platform. The addition of Brandon and Milan is the latest step in the continued growth of its Chambers Canada Band 1-ranked National Tax Group, the largest tax group among law firms in Canada. In 2025, McCarthy Tétrault LLP added its Charities and Non-Profits practice, which has since earned the same top-tier recognition, and McCarthy Tétrault LLP continue to invest in specialized tax capabilities that respond to the changing needs of its clients. Bolstering its Private Client Tax Planning practice is an important part of that strategy and an area where McCarthy Tétrault LLP intend to build further. Brandon brings more than two decades of tax experience, with a particular focus on sophisticated personal, corporate and trust planning for high-net-worth individuals and families, business owners, privately-held businesses and family offices, often in a cross-border or international context. He advises on corporate reorganizations, purchases and sales of businesses, investment and business structuring, succession and estate planning, post-mortem planning, trust planning, charitable giving and immigration and emigration. Called to the bars of Ontario and Québec, Brandon clerked for the Honourable Mr. Justice Michel Bastarache at the Supreme Court of Canada. Milan's practice focuses on complex Canadian tax matters affecting high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, and privately held businesses. An active member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, Milan has published on a range of tax matters and lectures periodically at Queen's University Faculty of Law. "Private clients are increasingly looking for advice that reflects the full picture, from their businesses and investments to succession, family wealth, and cross-border considerations," said Raj Juneja, Co-Head of the National Tax Group. "Brandon and Milan's arrival is a significant step in expanding our Private Client Tax Planning practice, which is designed to meet those needs at the highest level." "I'm excited to lead the Private Client Tax Planning group at McCarthy Tétrault," said Brandon Wiener. "The Firm's national platform and ability to coordinate complex international matters give us a strong foundation to support private clients wherever their businesses, investments and families take them." "Private client mandates can engage several areas of tax at once," said Milan Vukovic. "Being part of a Tax Group of this scale means we can bring the right tax specialists together around a client without fragmenting the advice." Altorney's MARC for ai-powered document review solution adopted by Canada's leading business law firm McCarthy Tétrault LLP.

Altorney's MARC for ai-powered document review solution adopted by Canada's leading business law firm McCarthy Tétrault LLP. Oct 07, 2026, 09:00 ET MARC brings explainable document intelligence to early-stage review, helping legal teams find what matters, understand why it matters, and act sooner BALTIMORE, Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ - Altorney today announced that the leading business law firm in Canada, McCarthy Tétrault, has deployed MARC, Altorney's document intelligence platform, for document review and analysis across litigation, investigations, anti-trust, tax and data breach matters. MARC gives legal teams explainable analysis across complex document populations, telling them not just what matters, but why. McCarthy Tétrault is Canada's premier, full-service law firm, with more than 800 lawyers delivering integrated legal and business services to Canadian and international clients. The firm has long positioned innovation and the reimagining of legal service delivery as central to its client-service approach. MARC is a document intelligence platform that helps legal teams make sense of complex information quickly, without losing control of their data. MARC classifies relevance, responsiveness, privilege, personal information, trade secrets, and other matter-specific categories, while it explains the reasoning behind each result instead of asking teams to take it on faith. Built by Altorney, MARC gives legal teams a faster, more transparent way to work through complex matters without compromising security. At McCarthy Tétrault, MARC has thus far been applied to privilege, personal information, and relevance analysis, supporting general litigation, investigations, and data breach response. "We are using MARC for relevance and privilege review, issue coding, identification of personal and confidential information across general litigation, investigations, and data breach matters," said Susan Wortzman, Partner at McCarthy Tétrault and President of MT>3, the Firm's e-discovery division. "The MARC team is highly responsive and works closely with our MT>3 team to develop bespoke workflows for highly challenging and unique matters, working within high pressure deadlines. MARC provides detailed rationale for every coding decision, making it easy for lawyers to validate its accuracy and spend their time applying complex legal judgment. Throughout, all data remains secure within our own private environment, giving our clients confidence that their data is securely managed. The cost savings are impactful for our clients." Unlike point solutions limited to a single stage of the workflow, MARC can run either before documents enter a review platform or on data that is already hosted in review platforms. This flexibility allows teams to introduce explainable analysis upstream, potentially limiting the volume of irrelevant material that enters downstream review, while also supporting quality-control workflows on data already in review. MARC can be deployed in a client cloud, a client-controlled data center or Altorney's secure hosted environment. "We built MARC to give legal teams better intelligence wherever their data resides," said Shimmy Messing, CEO and Co-Founder at Altorney. "McCarthy Tétrault's active use of MARC for first-pass review reflects the need to turn large, complex document populations into informed legal action earlier in the workflow. Our goal is not to replace legal judgment; it is to give exceptional legal teams a faster, more explainable foundation for applying it." Media Contact SOURCE Altorney
