Responsibilities
  • Conduct and document project meetings with clients.
  • Manage construction field personnel, including teaming partners.
  • Prepare construction contracts and cost estimates.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets.
  • Prepare and issue reports and correspondence.
  • Approve quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
  • Approve construction payment applications.
  • Negotiate and approve construction change orders.
  • Resolve technical issues.
  • Perform constructability reviews and value engineering studies.
  • Lead risk management assessments.
  • Prepare and monitor quality control and assurance plans.
  • Develop standard operating procedures.
  • Manage clients and project teams.
  • Be responsible for the financial and production success of construction service-related projects.
  • Assist with and lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction service projects.
  • Oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously when required.
  • Oversee and schedule construction engineering inspection activities.
  • Evaluate project issues and produce solutions to address deficiency issues, providing insight to the client.
  • Manage construction service equipment inventory and maintenance.
  • Assist with the development and review of project proposals.
  • Assist with internal training.
  • Apply safety compliance knowledge and participate in safety programs.
  • Perform other assigned job responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience on South Carolina Department of Transportation construction projects.
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited school.
  • A valid United States driver's license for driving to projects and related meetings.
  • A Professional Engineer license in South Carolina. Engineers licensed in another United States state must meet South Carolina Labor and Licensing Board requirements and obtain a South Carolina professional engineering license within six months of hire.
