We’re looking for engineers to join our Media Streaming Team.
Role description:
As a Senior Media Streaming Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our team, leading the development and optimization of our streaming technologies. Our team is dedicated to building, deploying, and maintaining a cutting-edge media streaming platform. The team controls playback end-to-end, from transcoding uploaded media all the way to custom-embedded players in our native and web apps. We handle petabytes of data and gigabytes per second of traffic and strive to provide the best playback experience to our users.
Experience and Background:
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on media streaming technologies.
- Proficiency in Go is essential, and experience with additional programming languages such as Scala is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of audio/video codecs, streaming protocols (HLS, DASH), and transport container technologies.
- Proven experience with microservices architecture, databases, and automated testing, coupled with a strong background in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Deep understanding of cloud-based platforms, (e.g. AWS S3, ECS, Lambda, CloudFront), and hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Expertise in monitoring, analytics, and ensuring high availability of distributed systems.
- Familiarity with content protection and encryption technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
