Responsibilities
  • Deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers Target's guest experience commitments and operational standards.
  • Observe team members, provide feedback, hold them accountable, and recognize strong guest experience performance.
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action, align the team on behaviors and execution, celebrate wins, and improve results and guest experience.
  • Lead daily and weekly workload execution for receiving products, merchandising, signing, setting and updating merchandise sales-floor displays, sampling, restocking shelves, organizing backrooms, and price changes for General Merchandise areas.
  • Educate team members on how merchandise setup and organization, product accuracy, stock levels, and sales-floor maintenance affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
  • Assess reporting to identify gaps in General Merchandise processes and assist in developing plans for the direct leader to review and approve.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, aligned with business priorities.
  • Help establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable to them.
  • Lead pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work accurately when applicable, assess fulfillment reporting, identify gaps, and assist in developing improvement plans.
  • Ensure products are in stock, available, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor while collaborating with other teams and leaders to keep the store guest ready.
  • Stay informed about relevant trends and products and relay Target communications during team connection moments.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team as directed by the direct leader.
  • Support team onboarding and learning, close skill gaps through development and coaching, and identify team members for future leadership positions.
  • Support guest services such as backup cashier and digital fulfillment while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity and create equitable experiences for guests and team members.
  • Follow Target policies, safety procedures, food-safety and pricing guidelines, and report and correct hazards.
  • Lead safety culture by modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, correcting hazards, assisting with incident response, and reporting and investigating injuries accurately and promptly.
  • Model physical security processes and support the store's security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies across the store, including ordering, storage, and application.
  • Follow safe and secure training and processes when serving as a key carrier.
  • Occasionally assume store-level leadership-on-duty responsibilities during assigned shifts.
  • Address store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
