  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain analytical findings to various audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Experience using SQL or SAS.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and analytical methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Interest in the insurance industry and how data-driven insights support business decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Retrieve, prepare, and analyze data from internal and external sources to support business analysis and reporting.
  • Leverage analytical and statistical techniques to identify trends, evaluate business performance, and communicate findings to business partners.
  • Complete tasks involving business intelligence, reporting, root cause analysis, and ad hoc business analyses.
  • Support the development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and data visualizations used by business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Apply quantitative methods to help solve business problems and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Assist in interpreting data and developing recommendations that improve operational performance and business outcomes.
  • Present findings, reports, presentations, and other materials that communicate actionable insights.
  • Participate in department and company meetings, special projects, and professional development opportunities.
  • Learn and apply new tools, techniques, and business concepts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of sophomore or junior year.
  • Involvement in student activities, leadership experiences, internships, or relevant work experience.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Familiarity with Python or R.
  • Prior internship, coursework, student project experience, or demonstrated interest in Claims, Personal Lines, or the broader insurance industry.

Nationwide hits record $73.2B in sales as insurer enters 100th year

Nationwide has reported record financial results for 2025, entering its centennial year with total adjusted capital of $32.8 billion, the highest in its 100-year history. The insurer achieved $73.2 billion in sales and premiums, up 7% from 2024, marking its fifth consecutive year of record growth. Net operating income rose 37% to $4.3 billion, driven by strong underwriting and investment performance across its diversified portfolio.
