Here are the key news stories impacting Illumina this week: * Adjusted earnings exceeded expectations. Illumina reported third-quarter adjusted EPS of $1.44, above the $1.36 consensus estimate, while revenue increased 4.2% year over year to approximately $1.13 billion. * Full-year guidance was raised. Management increased its 2026 outlook, with revenue guidance of roughly $4.65 billion at the midpoint, supported by clinical sequencing demand and continued adoption of the NovaSeq X platform. * Long-term industry demand remains favorable. Recent market reports point to strong growth in clinical genomics, sequencing-as-a-service, population screening, and AI-enabled genomic analysis - markets in which Illumina is a major participant. These reports are industry forecasts rather than new company contracts or financial commitments. * Analyst sentiment became more cautious. JPMorgan reduced its price target from $320 to $300, while Robert W. Baird maintained a Hold rating. The target cut suggests less near-term upside following Illumina's substantial prior rally. * Revenue performance disappointed investors. Although earnings surpassed estimates, quarterly revenue was below consensus in several reports, highlighting softer demand than expected and limiting the impact of the profit beat. * China exposure, tariffs, and business mix remain concerns. Investors are worried about China-related revenue challenges, tariff uncertainty, research-market weakness, and pricing pressure. A broader pullback in AI-linked technology stocks also hurt sentiment toward Illumina. Insiders place their bets.
