Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid State of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse license is required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Basic Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications from the American Heart Association are required.
Responsibilities
  • Administer nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse while ensuring patients’ health, comfort, and safety.
  • Provide virtual clinical care via video within the nursing scope of practice.
  • Demonstrate customer-care skills and webside manners.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Cooperate with nursing staff, medical staff, and other hospital departments.
  • Use remote patient monitoring, critical thinking, and decisive judgment to triage symptomatic consumers within the scope of practice.
  • Coordinate care among providers, patients, and third parties, including patient triage, medication reconciliation, and administrative assistance for providers and managers.
  • Collect patient assessment data and notify the appropriate nurse of actual or potential problems and needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Record patient information concisely, accurately, and completely.
  • Assist with preparing patient materials or correspondence used by registered nurses, advanced registered nurse practitioners, or physicians to communicate with organizations inside or outside the University.
  • Assist with preoperative and postoperative health teaching for patients and families.
  • Share responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans.
  • Participate in team conferences and share knowledge, information, and ideas with team members.
  • Perform more-complex nursing activities as competence increases.
  • Communicate frequently with the team leader regarding patients’ physical and mental conditions.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is preferred.
