Responsibilities
  • Manage the successful operation of a company-owned distributorship to meet or exceed distributorship and financial goals, including gross-profit generation and lead acquisition.
  • Maintain direct accountability for the distributorship’s Profit and Loss and budget performance.
  • Review weekly scorecards and monthly financials, identify variances from fiscal-year financial plans, and create action plans with the direct-report leadership team and Regional Market Manager.
  • Investigate and communicate activities contributing to significant positive results.
  • Track Accounts Receivable, maintain acceptable regional levels, and develop action plans for unacceptable balances.
  • Participate in developing the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Manage inventory flow to ensure warehouse and part-number accuracy while minimizing unit waste and losses.
  • Review tools to identify declining dealers.
  • Understand key-account hierarchies, visit decision-makers, and maintain meaningful business relationships with dealers.
  • Investigate complaints and respond to customers within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Lead and manage the local Sales Team to acquire new business, grow the customer base, and strengthen partnerships with existing dealers.
  • Spend significant time in the market to understand competitive products and services.
  • Ensure National Account service meets or exceeds Service Level Agreement expectations.
  • Communicate Enterprise initiatives, Interstate Owned Territory goals, and Regional objectives to distributorship staff.
  • Establish weekly meetings with distributorship staff.
  • Provide annual performance reviews to all Team Members.
  • Hire and promote individuals based on demonstrated performance and alignment with company values.
  • Manage and lead a team to achieve annual goals.
  • Provide performance management through a progressive discipline process.
  • Recognize and reward outstanding Team Member performance.
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching to develop Team Members’ knowledge, abilities, and skills.
  • Maintain the integrity of reporting systems by holding Team Members accountable for timely and accurate data submission.
  • Ensure compliance with Interstate Owned Territory standard operating procedures, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Department of Transportation requirements.
  • Develop best practices that improve productivity and efficiency and drive distributorship revenue goals.
  • Manage routing procedures to maximize equipment and labor utilization.
  • Provide ongoing feedback for continuous process improvement.
  • Execute enterprise pilot programs as needed.
  • Support Enterprise, Interstate Owned Territory, and Support Center initiatives.
  • Follow up on preventative fleet maintenance requirements.
  • Execute safety programs and foster a safe work environment.
  • Manage a distributorship handling more than 100,000 units annually.
  • Build and maintain relationships across the enterprise associated with source data.
  • Manage department resources, budgetary activities, and Profit and Loss accountability.
  • Model the company’s purpose and values.
