- The candidate must be a uniform-wearing Salvationist committed to evangelical outreach and discipleship.
- The candidate must have musical skills and be able to teach.
- The candidate must have experience working with children.
- The candidate must be self-motivated, well-organized, demonstrate initiative, prioritize responsibilities, and lead others.
- Coordinate and develop the Corps' music ministry and programming, including brass, guitar, piano, and vocal music, in cooperation with Divisional Headquarters.
- Lead musical groups where necessary and develop new leadership for existing or future groups.
- Coordinate Star Search and Divisional Arts Ministry participation.
- Encourage youth participation in divisional creative arts and musical programs.
- Prepare, develop, and maintain programs and ministries that support the healthy spiritual, physical, and emotional development of those under the coordinator's influence.
- Equip youth and adults with their musical gifts and abilities to serve God through The Salvation Army.
- Keep and record statistical information about music and creative arts programs at the Corps and participants in divisional groups.
