About the job
- Must provide own transportation with adequate auto insurance; public transportation is not suitable for this job.
- Must pass a background check and/or state-required FBI fingerprinting.
- Must be in good physical condition and able to bend, kneel, stoop, jump, jog, and otherwise move actively while teaching a class.
- Must occasionally be able to carry large amounts of equipment.
- Must be able to work morning hours starting at 8:45 AM; some afternoon hours are available.
- Must have reliable transportation to drive to different schools in Anne Arundel County.
- Must be able to communicate with young children and facility directors.
- Must be able to follow specific directions and routines.
- Must be flexible to work a variety of days and times.
- Must have sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- The position requires part-time employment, approximately 10–15 hours per week.
- Review approved lesson plans in preparation for classes.
- Arrive for and begin all classes on time.
- Instruct children in the use of the approved curriculum and equipment.
- Teach live virtual JumpBunch classes via Zoom Meetings when in-person classes cannot be held.
- Communicate positively with school directors and teachers about all aspects of the JumpBunch classes.
- Monitor attendance of registered children and ensure they are present.
- Collect payment for classes when applicable.
- Wear the approved uniform and present a professional image.
- Follow JumpBunch policies outlined in the Operations Manual.
- Complete requested paperwork accurately and on time.
- Provide advance notice or arrange coverage for foreseeable absences.
- Bring the equipment needed to execute weekly classes.
- Function as a member of a team.
- Take initiative to solve problems.
- Adapt creatively to changing classroom variables.
- Teach sports and fitness classes to children ages 18 months to 12 years at local schools and childcare centers in Anne Arundel County.
- Be enthusiastic and pleasant in conversation, patient, and interested in working with children.
- Be neat and well groomed.
- Display an energetic demeanor and smile.
