Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in a hands-on infrastructure role such as low voltage technician, cabling technician, AV installation technician, or data center/rack-and-stack technician.
  • Practical experience pulling, terminating, and testing low voltage cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat6a; fiber experience is preferred.
  • Experience building and dressing racks and installing network hardware such as switches, firewalls, patch panels, and cable managers.
  • Experience installing AV hardware in conference rooms or commercial spaces, including displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, and cameras.
  • Basic understanding of network concepts including VLANs, patch panel-to-switch port mapping, PoE, and uplinks, sufficient to follow engineer-provided diagrams and instructions.
  • Ability to read and follow floor plans, riser diagrams, rack elevations, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, cable testers, toner/probe equipment, ladders, and lifts as required.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel heavily and regularly to nationwide sites.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment typically weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work on ladders and lifts and in tight spaces such as ceilings, network closets, and under-floor spaces.
Responsibilities
  • Install and terminate low voltage cabling for data, voice, and related infrastructure by pulling, labeling, dressing, and testing cable runs.
  • Build and dress server racks, including mounting rails, patch panels, cable managers, UPS units, switches, firewalls, and other network and compute equipment.
  • Install, mount, and connect switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related network hardware according to documented standards.
  • Deploy and install AV solutions including displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, cameras, room controllers, and related components in conference rooms and shared spaces.
  • Perform cable patching and port mapping in network closets and server rooms.
  • Interpret build guides, rack elevations, wiring diagrams, and implementation plans with project teams and technical stakeholders to ensure standards-based deployments.
  • Perform basic validation and testing, including link-light checks, connectivity checks, and AV signal testing, and document results for handoff to Infrastructure Engineers.
  • Maintain clean and organized network closets and rack environments through labeling, cable management, and adherence to company standards.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineers during cutovers, migrations, and go-live events to execute defined on-site activities.
  • Document completed work, including as-built photos, port maps, labeling schemes, and site-documentation updates.
  • Coordinate with building management, general contractors, and low-voltage vendors to support site readiness and installations.
  • Follow safety guidelines and best practices when working on ladders, lifts, in ceilings, and around electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Contribute to the development, refinement, and adoption of infrastructure deployment standards covering installation practices, cabling and labeling conventions, documentation requirements, and site-readiness processes.
  • Support installations, upgrades, cutovers, and on-site infrastructure initiatives at company locations and project sites.
  • Work occasional evenings or weekends during cutovers or critical deployments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience installing building security equipment such as internal or external cameras, badge readers, intercom systems, electronic strikes or door hardware, door contacts, motion detectors, and structured cabling.
  • Experience supporting Avigilon-based unified management systems for badge and camera control.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on cable management, labeling, and clean, professional installations.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and process-improvement skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across technical teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
