Licensed Practical Nurse - Cardiology
About the job
- Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a valid Compact State license.
- A strong foundation in nursing theory and clinical practice is required.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required, or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach are required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment is required.
- Respond to patient phone calls and clinical messages, routing them to providers as appropriate.
- Communicate test results to patients and reinforce updates to their plan of care.
- Conduct nurse visits within scope of practice, including patient assessments, medication reconciliation, vital signs, EKGs, and implementation of provider-directed care plans.
- Process prescription refill requests.
- Complete FMLA, disability, surgical clearance, and other medical forms.
- Coordinate outgoing clinical referrals.
- Provide patient education and support.
- Assist with additional clinical duties as needed.
- Cardiology experience is preferred but not required.
