  • Professional and tactful oral and written communication with city employees and the public.
  • Organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment using organizational policies.
  • Ability to review written material for accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently under general instructions.
  • Ability to perform physical activities including filing, pulling, seeing, sorting, squatting, standing, stooping, twisting, walking, typing, and writing.
  • Ability to operate office equipment including a PC, telephone, calculator, scanner, and copier.
  • Ability to prioritize deadlines and tasks.
  • Ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly.
  • Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish unit objectives.
  • Ability to research and analyze information to identify trends and patterns.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.
  • Availability to work 10 to 20 hours per week during normal working hours.
  • Successful completion of the required pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in roadway safety existing conditions analysis.
  • Review and analyze safety improvement recommendations.
  • Assist with public engagement activities, including in-person meetings, online forums, and surveys.
  • Create presentations and informational materials for internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Participate in existing conditions data collection, data analysis, public engagement with schools and neighbors, and safety demonstration projects supporting the Safe Routes to School Master Plan and Demonstration Project.
