Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Nursing are required.
  • No prior experience is required.
  • Demonstrate teaching ability and clinical experience in psychiatric/mental health, family health (obstetric/pediatric), or medical-surgical nursing.
  • Demonstrate competence in organizational and management skills.
  • Hold a current unencumbered license, or be eligible for licensure, as a registered nurse in Texas.
Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom, clinical, and online instruction using contemporary teaching methodologies.
  • Collaborate with administrators, directors, coordinators, and faculty regarding student learning activities throughout the curriculum; serve as a member of the Faculty Organization and standing committees.
  • Facilitate student-learning opportunities through flexible scheduling of laboratory hours; attend major education conferences and workshops; prepare teaching-learning enrichment materials to enhance academic and clinical competencies; and implement virtual learning experiences in simulation laboratories.
  • Participate in university, college, and community activities that support program effectiveness, including retention, progression, and graduation activities; maintain the security of proprietary information.
  • Participate in externally and internally supported research activities and initiate development of policies and procedures for laboratory utilization.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Assess, validate, and evaluate student learning outcomes in theory, clinical, face-to-face, simulation, and online platforms.
