ProSidian Seeks a Civil Structural Analyst - Engineering headquartered near Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina to support an engagement for Nuclear Energy Sector Clients The Savannah River Site (SRS), a 310 square mile (198,046 acres) Department of Energy site, is located in the sand-hills region of South Carolina. It encompasses parts of Aiken, Barnwell and Allendale counties and is bordered on the west by the Savannah River and Georgia. SRS is close to several cities, including Augusta, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina. It is also within a few hours of Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Greenville and Charlotte.
This *** | Exempt position currently best aligns with the Civil Structural Analyst DS 108 Labor Category and ideal candidates exhibit the ability to visualize, analyze, and convert data and experiences to meet performance challenges while confidently engaging in productive “Jugaad” and dialogue targeting mission success. ProSidian Team Members work to provide temporary staffing support services to support Savannah River Remediation (SRR), the Liquid Waste (LW) Contractor located at the Department of Energy Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC 29808. Services anticipated includes storage, integration, treatment and disposition of the liquid radioactive waste being managed at the Savannah River Site (DOE).
Perform advanced structural analyses of various structures to validate their design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading conditions. Advanced structural analytical capabilities include the ability to perform the following: Seismic Soil- Structure Interaction (SSI); dynamic seismic analysis (response spectra and time- history); development of in-structure seismic response spectra, and to evaluate structural responses for tornado winds, missile penetration, precipitation (rain, flood, snow), and explosion (blast/detonation and deflagration).
Individual at times will be required to travel off Site to interface with vendors, fabricators and other Engineering organizations.
Engineering services will be provided using SRR processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.
Qualifications
MS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or BS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.
Experience /Skills:
Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in the design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities. Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS, SASSI, DYNA3D or similar computer codes. Candidate must demonstrate a sound working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ASCE, ACI (318 & 349). Candidate must have the ability to perform field walk-downs of structural systems.
Work Hours:
A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, fives days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRR holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.
