Requirements
  • An active New York hearing aid dispensing license is required.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical record systems and word processing software.
  • Familiarity with billing and coding.
  • Ability to develop relationships with patients and interact professionally with patients, physicians, and team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in fitting and programming hearing aids for optimal performance, comfort, and sound quality.
  • Provide basic patient education on hearing aid use, care, and maintenance.
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns.
  • Assist in scheduling and conducting follow-up appointments, including basic troubleshooting, routine adjustments, and cleanings.
  • Make follow-up calls to patients to ensure satisfaction with their assistive listening and hearing devices.
  • Maintain organized patient records.
  • Handle packaging and mailing earmold orders, device repairs, and manufacturer or laboratory returns.
  • Maintain inventories of supplies and loaner devices.
  • Communicate with audiologists concerning order updates, insurance verifications, and prior authorizations.
  • Assist audiologists in completing clinical appointments as needed.
  • Perform infection control duties within the clinic or service.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
